A delicious slice of paradise with a subtle mid mod vibe. Welcome to The Nest - a simply wonderful pool home where the emphasis is on relaxing in the sunshine. This beautifully preserved gem (circa 1957) has been lovingly updated for the way we live today. The property owners preserved the midcentury magic by honoring the original architecture and restoring much of the decorative tilework. They enhanced the design with gorgeous new floors and all new French doors that blur the lines between indoor and outdoor living. The result is a fabulous Palm Springs pool home that is both nostalgic and very “next-century” at the same time.

The Nest has been created as a place where you can unwind in complete privacy, but still have easy access to the dining, shopping, attractions and outdoor activities of Palm Springs. Tucked away on a quiet residential street, this convenient in-town location is softened by mature plantings, privacy walls and drought-conscious landscaping - creating a picture-perfect poolside paradise with spectacular mountain views.

OUTDOOR LIVING SPACES
This vacation home has the look and feel of a mini-estate. The entire property has been walled for privacy. The large front garden and rear pool yard are enclosed by a mature ficus hedge - creating a quiet sundrenched oasis for you and your group to enjoy. The perimeter of the property is dotted with towering Palm Trees and the mountain views are breathtaking.

At the center of the rear yard is the fabulous sparkling pool with its integrated spa. You’ll find chaise lounges, shade umbrellas, a gas barbecue and an outdoor dining pavilion that comfortably seats 6-8. The exterior living room has a firepit cocktail table - perfect for spending long evenings under the stars. There is a napping hammock and additional quiet spaces tucked away for curling up with a good book or just spending some alone time. This is a very special property that takes full advantage of the natural beauty of Palm Springs - encouraging that life be lived outdoors - perched in your nest among the moon, the sun and the stars.

INDOOR LIVING SPACES
Fresh, bright, light and comfortable. There is a certain unpretentious calm about this home - a pleasant, welcoming vibe that is quintessential Palm Springs. Gorgeous in its simplicity - this vacation home has been stylishly decorated with a mix of plush contemporary furnishings and chic midcentury finds. The living room offers plenty of seating for your entire group and a large (55”) flat screen television that is perfect for binge watching your favorite shows. The kitchen and adjacent interior dining space open up to the outdoors - revealing the pool yard that seems to go on and on for ever with its many different gathering spaces.

SLEEPING QUARTERS
Both bedrooms feature hospitality-quality king-sized mattresses, ample storage, and direct access to the outdoors through French Doors. The master has its own ensuite bath while the second bedroom has easy access to the hall bath. The sleeping quarters of this home have been designed as tranquil spaces for relaxing and taking some time away from the rest of the group.

THE LOCATION
Driving is completely optional since you will be in walking distance to the famed Palm Canyon Drive as it cuts between bustling Downtown and South Palm Springs. You’ll be right near fine dining, casual eateries, night spots, grocery stores, coffee houses and boutique shops.

Beautiful home in a peaceful neighborhood. Spent a few days here with two college friends and we enjoyed using the pool and hot tub as well as being close to downtown Palm Springs. The property is very well maintained, super clean, private and well decorated. The Acme team is very responsive and provided some great recommendations. Highly recommend!

Everything was perfect, only thing I suggest is they let people know that the spa when turned off drains back and forth to the pool so it gets cold within minutes. The first day I did not know this so when we would shut the spa off to save energy then go to get into the spa 30 minutes later it was ice cold. We then had to turn the spa on and wait another 90 minutes for it to get warm/hot. Other than the spa, the place is a dream

This was a great house near downtown Palm Springs. All the amenities were provided. And i absolutely loved the pool and fire feature in the yard. Downside: # of cars allowed and strict noise ordinance. Had a 80th birthday lunch for my mom with a few of her friends who had to park at a local pizza place and walk to the property in 95° weather. And couldn't have any music, even played lowly, outside. Otherwise, completely enjoyed my stay!

The backyard was amazing. We really enjoyed it. Small issue was the sofa in the living room was passed its prime. It sunk to the floor and when you are over 6ft it was uncomfortable. Small thing. We really appreciated the notebook with all the important information in one place. There were some great restaurant recommendations that we took advantage of. Really great stuff. We would certainly stay there again.

We loved The Nest. So pristine and private. It had every amenity and thoughtful touch such as fresh ground coffee, firepit and huge bedrooms. The spa wasn't working well, however numerous attempts to address the issue were made. The view of the mountains wasn't quite as shown in the listing since the neighbors trees have grown since the pictures were taken. We will return. We loved it.

The house very nice and comfortable. The backyard and outdoor spaces are a good size, slightly bigger than I assumed from the photos. While the inside is not huge, none of the rooms felt small or cramped. The only small item was the sink in the master bath that sits low, but it fits the character and wasn't an issue. Would definitely stay here again.

Property was better than the pictures. Gardens are beautiful. It was a perfect get away for our family of 4 adults. Central location and easy to get to other attractions by car. We loved the pool but very conscious of the noise by-laws. Kitchen well stocked and in working order. Only issue was the check in door code did not work but proper manager fixed the problem immediately. Would definitely recommend this property to others.

Positives: - Neighborhood is nice and quiet - It's close to downtown - For two couples, it's a very livable space, though not large - Bedrooms are both nicely sized, with King beds - Nice yard with areas for sun and shade. Nice pool and hot tub - Responsive company. We had a corroding kettle (should've already been replaced) that they quickly replaced when we mentioned it. - Good property information notebook. - Property was clean and everything was in good working order. Negatives and other things to know - This is not a luxury property, though they're not charging for for that either. It's updated, but an older property. - I would recommend doing the virtual tour so you really get an idea of the layout of the inside, and realize things like the master bathroom is very small, though functional enough. - The hot tub works, but you don't have control over the jets. - Know that when you stay in this part of town, close up to the mountain, you lose the sun over the mountain quite a bit earlier than say, Palm Desert. In early February, we'd lose the sun at 4pm. - Internet was not great. Wifi didn't work well in the backyard. Even cellular (Verizon) didn't work well in the backyard (or even downtown) - There's a big sign in the backyard (plus info in the handbook) warning you of a $500 Fine + Eviction, per city ordinance, stating things like "No music outdoors at any time," and "No inside noise or music audible outdoors," So if you wanted to play some music at a low volume on an outdoor...

The house was a lovely 2 bedroom, mid-century home. The couch was large and comfortable for lounging in the bright and sunny living room. The kitchen was spotlessly clean and had all the appliances we needed. The pool and hot tub were right outside the back door. It was lovely to float on the pool floats and look up at the stars at night. The fire pit helped keep us warm with the cooler weather in January. We noticed that the vintage home elements were designed for people who were much shorter than us. The bathroom counter hit my 6' 4" husband about midthigh. The main bedroom bed was very comfortable, had very soft linens, great pillows and an extra fuzzy blanket. The grill worked great for a night of grilling.

Cozy home with fantastic outdoor space

My family loved the place! The pool was heated perfectly, the hot tub worked really well, the landscaping was beautiful, and the lounge furniture was of top-notch quality. The beds were comfy and the Moccamaster was clutch. The master bath was a little small but didn’t really bother us as everything else was great. Nice touch with music playing on the TV as we checked in. We didn’t have to contact the property manager during our stay but they were texting every so often just to see how we were doing which was nice and not intrusive at all. Great location and close to the main drag. We definitely would come back!

Nice backyard retreat

The outdoor amenities were the reason we booked the property and they did not disappoint! We had a few issues with the heating of the spa/pool but the management company was in constant communication and the issues were fixed to our satisfaction. The company provided water filter carafe so we did not need to buy (and dispose of) bottled water, and providing coffee and creamer was another nice touch. The only negative I would say is the house is advertised as "walk to town." It is easily more than a mile to downtown Palm Springs and there is not stores or restaurants (other than a convenience store) within walking distance. The road is busy and isolated in some areas as well. This was not a big issue at all, but if you want something within walking distance, this isn't the place.

We are glad you loved the outdoor amenities and kitchen supplies at The Nest and that we were able to remedy the spa/pool issues. The house is located in the Tahquitz River Estates neighborhood. It is between the shops and restaurants of South Palm Canyon and East Palm Canyon. For example it is 0.4 miles to Miro's restaurant and the new Bar Cecil, 0.8 miles from both Koffi and Kings Highway restaurant and 0.6 miles from Townie Bagels & Cafe. However, it is about one mile from the downtown.

We were happy with the saltwater pool and full sun in the very private backyard. This setup was outstanding and exactly what was Important to us. The property is clean and well equipped, with nice enough furnishing but not a luxury property by any stretch. The kitchen is fully equipped and functional and the tv in the family room was great- Netflix included is a nice touch. Good WiFi Would go again if we want another sunny but simple getaway.

Wonderful spot close to town and grocery store. The kitchen had everything we needed to prep all of our meals and there is a great bbq out back. There are chaise lounge chairs as well as a separate seating area with a gas fire pit. Beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms were stocked with all the basics if you didn't bring your own. Communication was great with the management company, check in on us but didn't bother us. The pool is perfect and a nice hot tub too. The weather in late May was perfect, mid to upper 90's. We will stay here again.

We loved this property and surrounding area. The noise rules and signs posted every few feet was stressful. If this property was in another neighborhood we would book again, it had everything you would want in a getaway. Since we could not relax while our kids enjoyed the pool, concerned they were being too loud we will unfortunately not return to this property or Palm Springs.

We are glad that you loved the property, and it is unfortunate that the City of Palm Springs "Good Neighbor" rules impacted your enjoyment. These rules are in place throughout Palm Springs, as the city feels that this is the necessary to ensure that those staying in any of the beautiful residential neighborhoods are able to enjoy the peace, quiet and safety that Palm Springs is known for.

House was a bit smaller than appeared in photos, but outdoor living was fantastic. Great pool, lots of quiet privacy, good location, well stocked kitchen. Better instructions should be given regarding hot tub. Finding hot tub switch was difficult. How long does tub heat stay on? What does fast flashing red light mean? Slow flashing red light? Call to management did not get a response. But we figured it out and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Anniversary Get away

Overall Comment We wanted to get away for a few days and celebrate our anniversary in Palm Springs. We had never used VRBO but we tried it and we found The Nest. Booking the property was very easy and when I had to alter our dates, they were very accommodating. With Covid, we were a little concerned with staying away from home, but when we arrived, everything was very clean and we were even left with cleaning supplies, some masks and hand sanitizer. A few days before our arrival I was sent an email with how to open the door and all about the property. When we got into the house, there was a whole binder, explaining everything you would need to know about how to adjust the thermostat, how to turn on fans, how to turn on the spa and so much more. The house was very comfortable and everything was like it was presented in the pictures online. The property itself was in a great location, close to town and close to the restaurants we went to for dinner. The backyard and pool were very nice. The pool was crystal clear and the pool guy actually came one day during our stay to perform maintenance. They had a skimmer available to clear off little leaves and the whole backyard was enclosed and very private. The chairs and umbrellas they provided were nice to hang out on and we ended up spending most of the late morning to mid-afternoon outside an in the pool most days. Our experience at this property was outstanding and we will definitely come back. We even saw little bunnies hopping around

Palm Springs Get Away

Overall Comment My husband and I wanted to get away while still socially distancing. This was the perfect choice. The Nest was very clean and comfortable and we used the pool everyday. We had purchased some floaties for the pool before we arrived (just incase) but there was no need as they had nice ones in the garage. We really enjoyed our stay.

Great Stay!

Overall Comment House is exactly as described, we were impressed by how clean and well maintained it was. Even the provided barbecue was in perfect shape. The kitchen was very well equipped including less common utensils ( meat thermometer, shaker, cast iron pans, spices, oil, sugar ) The very private backyard was well furnished, and well kept, it could use some more shade elements such as under the pergola. We actually recommend the front yard in the afternoon as it has a lot of natural shade and good privacy. Walking distance to downtown will depend on the season as it was 115 when we were there we opted to not walk. Long story short We really loved the house and would love to own it! Only downside was the last minute stress the agency put us through ( maybe due to covid difficulties ): we made our reservation a month in advance and were very transparent that we would be bringing our cat with us. We received a call 2 days prior stating a possible problem as "pets accepted" actually means small dogs. We were able to positively resolve the issue through a security deposit but this could have been dealt with at reservation time.

Our Stay at The Nest

Overall Comment The Nest was a great vacation home and very clean. The pool was serviced twice in the week we were there. The garden was beautiful and mostly private. It's the perfect place for one or two couples to spend some time in Palm Springs. House has older bath fixtures that were a bit of a squeeze; but there was a dishwasher and laundry available -- and they provided soap! Acme House Co. was wonderful! The reservation through them was super easy. They gave us all the info we needed in advance and met us on site to walk us through the house. There was also a concierge available by text if we had any problem. Super service! I would have no hesitation booking an Acme house again.

Overall Comment This was our second visit to The Nest in the past 9 months, and it remains our favorite PS rental! Great location. The perfect size (plenty of room w/ no suplersage — so many other rentals have extra unnecessary space just for the sake of it. Love that the kitchen overlooks the pool/backyard. Only “complaint” (more like an observation, for the Owner): the A/C doesn’t quite cut it. Our two visits had temps over 115 (first visit) and between 105-110 (last visit. Both times, with the A/C on, the temp inside The Nest consistently rose to over 80 by 5pm. And that’s with us regularly practicing quick entry/exits.

Overall Comment I had a wonderful stay at the Nest in Palm Springs for five days in May. The house was very clean and cute in a great neighborhood close to Palm Canyon Drive.The backyard was wonderful and very lush with flowers and a orange tree with a great view of the mountains.We had a lot of birds in the yard including a resident hummingbird we watched every day enjoying the flowers.The weather was great with a couple days reaching 110 degrees so it was so nice to have the pool and shade in the front and back yard.We ended up extending our stay two extra days because we enjoyed our stay at the Nest.

The Nest Palm Springs, a perfect month in the desert

Overall Comment We had an absolutely lovely time in PS at the Nest. The home was immaculate, decorated in a simple and charming mid-century style, and perfectly located near all the activities in town, while the immediate neighborhood was delightfully tranquil. The cleaning, pool, and garden services were top notch as well. When a minor problem arose--umbrella blew over in the wind--Acme was there in a flash with a replacement. Security deposit and utility refund were promptly refunded. Nice job on the weather as well!! Thank you Acme team

Loved the yard!

The home is comfortable, spacious, and equipped enough for short term stays. The best part was the the pool, fireplace, and lounging area. We enjoyed the property. There was a martini shaker and no martini glasses.... we bought some and left them for next guests. To take out your garbage/ and or recycling, you have to take it out the front door and drop it in the bins on the driveways.....make sure you are dressed appropriately lol. You have to go out the front door, open the garage door to get to the back to to open it to do laundry. Then go thru the garage again to lock the back door when you are finished. Advertisement does not mention this artificial turf.

This property really fit our needs, and we loved the beautiful vines in the garden that smelled great!
