Originally built by real estate legend Paul Trousdale (circa 1949). Completely remodeled in 2014. Features the quintessentially Palm Springs art of Shag, aka Josh Agle. Ideal for travelers who are looking for that authentic midcentury experience - updated and reinterpreted for the way we live today. Beds: K,Q,Q. Garage is not available for guest parking at this home.

OUTDOOR LIVING SPACES
The home owners of The Shag Lover spend a lot of time here themselves. They have invested a great deal of heart and soul into this property - so you know the home is livable, comfortable and the kind of place where you can put your feet up, relax and unwind. No fuss. No worry. Just easy living and good vibes. The very private yard is walled and gated for privacy and features an inground pool and spa, fire feature and outdoor dining. This is the type of vacation home people return to year after year.

** The pool will be heated upon request with an additional service fee. Please let us know if you'd like to heat the pool so we can ensure it is heated before your arrival. If you home has a spa or hot tub, heating the spa is included with your rental at no extra cost **

INDOOR LIVING SPACES
This classic midcentury home has the hip vibe of yesteryear while feeling very next century at the same time. The interior is bright and fresh - everywhere you look there are art pieces by artist Shag that celebrates the Palm Springs lifestyle!

The home has been completely remodeled - yet still honors the midcentury architecture - preserving Mr. Trousdale’s vision of clean lines, open spaces, clerestory windows and walls of glass that blur the lines between indoor outdoor living.

You’ll find a new kitchen and bathrooms, high-speed internet, 4 flat screen TVs and. The living and dining are open to each other - perfect for spending time with your entire group. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances, a gas range and gleaming quartz countertops. And in true Palm Springs style, the entire back of the house has walls of glass that reveal the sunny pool and patio area.

** The term "Pets Allowed” or “Pets Accepted" at an ACME House Company vacation rental means that we welcome dogs only. No other pets are allowed. **

SLEEPING QUARTERS
Each of the three bedrooms has a hotel-quality mattress, flatscreen TV and ample storage. The Master Suite offers a King bed, ensuite bath and direct pool access. The second and third bedrooms have Queen beds and easy access to the hall bathroom.

THE LOCATION
Shag Lover is centrally located in the Tahquitz River Estates Neighborhood. Its mid city location is softened by privacy walls, mature plantings and towering palm trees. This really is the ideal location for those who want to be close to everything. Palm Springs is at your fingertips if you ever decide to leave the privacy and comfort of your pool yard. Shag Lover is very close to restaurants, shops, boutiques, galleries, the casino, convention center, cabarets and all the fun of Palm Canyon Drive! Grocery stores, casual restaurants, coffee places and other neighborhood conveniences are all nearby.

The artwork in the house is truly exceptional, and it inspired us to go to the shag store in town and buy some of our own. The house was immaculately, clean and stylish and suited us four friends perfectly. We swam in the pool every day, and our dogs loved to run around the pool and chase each other. The kitchen is well designed and has more than enough of what we needed.

This didn’t in any way change the fun time we had, but it was for sure an adjustment. Also, the management and service people were the best!! Hugely responsive and prompt — and super nice. Long Weekend in Palm Springs

Great value for the price. Super convenient location. I cook and the kitchen was super functional. Great pool and hot tub. Bathrooms super nice. The only potential drawback of the property is that the house is on a corner lot with one of the streets being a major thoroughfare. I was a little apprehensive but it ended up being somewhat of a non issue for me. It was more city noise than anything and by the end of the trip I didn't notice it as much. Also one less neighbor. I would definitely rent the house again without hesitation.
