  • Are pets allowed?
  • Yes. Pets are allowed in approved pet friendly homes with the required signed Pet Addendum. Please inquire with the reservationists when booking your property.

  • Can I add extra days to my reservation?
  • Absolutely! As long as the dates are available, we would love to have you extend your stay with us. Please contact our office and speak to a reservationist regarding availability and rates (760) 650-0150 x916. If you see space of fewer than four week days between your stay and the next arrival, let us know, we will be flexible to encourage you to fill that space.

  • Can I arrange to have a shipment sent to the rental home prior to my arrival?
  • Yes. You can make arrangements to have the shipment sent directly to the Acme House Company office. Housekeeping will then deliver the shipment to your Acme vacation home on your arrival date. A nominal service charge may apply. Please call reservations for more details.

  • Can we have a party?
  • Smaller, more intimate gatherings are fine, but please adhere to the maximum overnight occupancy rules described in the rental agreement. Our homes are located in residential communities and most of the neighboring homes are owner occupied. In order to maintain peace and happiness in the neighborhood we do not allow large parties, loud gatherings, or events. Any use of the rental property for a purpose other than residential use for a family vacation is strictly prohibited. There are special rules for vacation rentals. Occupant agrees to all noise ordinances, rules, and regulations set forth by the City of Palm Springs. A complete list of all ordinances within Palm Springs is listed on their website: http://www.palmsprings-ca.gov/?page=567 under “Rules for Vacation Rentals” and is displayed in the property’s house manual within the home. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact reservations for more details.

  • Do all homes have phone service?
  • All of our properties provide basic phone service for local calls. Some homeowners provide free long distance to US, or to US and Canada; please inquire with our reservationists about availability in a specific property. If you rent a home that does not include long distance, you would need to use a calling card to be able to place long distance calls.

  • Do all homes include high-speed internet?
  • Yes. All our homes provide access to high-speed Internet and wireless internet access.

  • Do you collect a reservation deposit?
  • Yes, the reservation deposit secures your rental dates, our reservationist will be happy to go over the details with you.

  • Do you offer discounts?
  • We do offer different specials throughout the year, which are listed on the Specials page of our website. Please contact our reservations desk at 760-650-0150 x916 to learn more about our special offers. Specials cannot be combined and can only be applied to a new reservation. You may also sign up to receive our Acme House Company monthly emails … you will be the first to know about upcoming specials and promotions!

  • How do I make a reservation?
  • There are several ways to book with us! Book Online at www.acmehouseco.com put in your arrival and departure date to search by availability, or click on a specific property to view that property’s availability, then follow the booking instructions. Call us at 760-650-0150 x916 or x918, and we will be happy to assist you. Our professional reservations team is available to help you plan your stay, Mon-Fri 9:00am to 5:00pm and Sat 10:00am to 2:00pm (Pacific Time). Email us at: info@acmehouseco.com

  • How do you calculate the utility usage fee?
  • We have created a two tier Utility Offset program whereby guests who stay 1-14 days will be charged a daily flat rate based on the history of utility usage of the home. Reservations over 15 days will be charged actual utility, the charge is $1.40 per therm for gas and $.35 per kWh for electric. A digital picture is taken of both the gas meter and electrical meter upon your arrival and departure. We provide a copy to you, along with your settlement statement showing usage and the calculations for the charges. Those charges are deducted from your utility deposit. The utility deposit ranges from $750-$1,500 depending on the property size. The remainder of the utility deposit which is not used will be refunded after the stay has been completed. There is not a way to say exactly what the charge would be since it is based on the usage but an average, ballpark estimate would be around 25.00-50.00 per day.

  • How far in advance can I make a reservation?
  • Reservations can be made up to one year in advance. Current guests have the first option to rebook the same property for the following year if the property is available.

  • If I book online, when is my reservation confirmed?
  • Your reservation is confirmed once we receive your credit card payment, and the signed rental agreement.

  • Is housekeeping service included?
  • All our homes are professionally cleaned before your arrival and after your departure. Mid-stay cleaning service is available at an additional charge. Please inquire with reservation when booking your property.

  • Is someone available if we have questions when occupying the house?
  • Yes. One of the great benefits of choosing Acme House Company is that we provide you with attentive and reliable service. We have responsive property managers on call and available to assist 365 days a year. A detailed house manual is also placed inside the home to provide you with property operating instructions to help you take full advantage of the features of the home. The Acme Team is also available to assist you by phone or email.

  • Is there a lost and found?
  • Yes. If you have left something behind on your visit and we find it, we will contact you and arrange to have it shipped to you. We will charge the credit card we have on file for the cost of the shipping plus a $10 service fee. We keep all lost and found items for 30 days. After 30 days, unclaimed items will be donated.

  • What amenities are at the homes?
  • All our homes are privately owned and furnished to suit the owner’s taste and needs, therefore, accommodations and amenities vary greatly. Acme House Company properties adhere to a minimum furnishings list to ensure the guests comfort and satisfaction. The following is a list of items you will find in all of our rental homes:

    -Quality bedspreads, sheets, blankets, pillows
    -Bath towels, washcloths, bath mats, pool towels, kitchen towels
    -Refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, pots & pans, dishes, utensils
    -Telephone with local service (some with expanded long distance plans, please inquire with reservations)
    -Television(s) with basic cable service (some upgraded), VCR and/or DVD player
    -Iron and ironing board, fire extinguisher, smoke detector and carbon monoxide alarms
    -Complimentary starter kit of body wash, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, liquid soap and dish soap
    -Paper towels, toilet tissue and trash liners to meet the home’s maximum occupancy
    -The yard area includes a gas or charcoal BBQ, your first tank of propane and outdoor dining area
    -Poolside lounge chairs and seating and ample pool towels
    -Washer and dryer, laundry detergent
    -Basic cleaning supplies and sponges


    Some homes are also equipped with bicycles, pool toys, floats, and other fun items for the guest’s enjoyment.

    Please inquire with reservations about any extra amenities when booking. For families with small children, you may wish to rent full-sized cribs, infant cribs, baby monitors, crib/pack-n-play linens, baby joggers, baby gates, bed rails, and/or wagons. Please contact Baby’s Away at (760) 413-1214 to reserve and arrange delivering of the items to your rental home.

    Parking varies at each home and some designated parking spots may not accommodate large cars, trucks, or SUVs. Please inquire about the parking accommodations prior to your booking if you have an extra large vehicle.

  • What are check-in and check-out times?
  • Check-in is 3:00pm
    Check-out is 10:00am

    If you would like to request an early check-in or late check-out, please contact reservations after your arrival and before your departure time to get written confirmation of approval. Such permission will typically be granted if the property is available. This cannot be granted beforehand as we do not know if the property will have an arrival or departure on your arrival or departure day. If there is, we typically cannot grant early check-in or late check-out, as we need the time in between to prepare the home.

  • What are the rates and dates for each season?
  • The rates change by season and length of stay. Rates are subject to change any time prior to you making the reservation deposit.

  • What are your hours?
  • While we do have property care personnel on call 24/7 for emergencies, which you can reach by calling (760) 650-0150 x4, our office and specifically our reservations department has set hours. Those hours are Monday - Friday 9am-6:30pm, Saturday 9am-5pm and we are closed Sunday, you can reach reservations directly by calling (866) 879-5553. If you are staying with us, it's very important that you call property care if you are having any issues with your stay. If you were to call or email reservations on a Sunday, your message won't be seen until Monday morning. So please, give property care a call at (760) 650-0150 x4.
  • What do you suggest bringing?
  • Palm Springs has an average temperature of about 70 degrees in the winter months and 100’s in the summer months. If you are coming between November and March, it might be a good idea to pack a couple of warmer sweaters and a waterproof jacket just in case. With the summer heat, it is important to stay hydrated with plenty of water on hand, especially when engaging in outdoor activities. For those hot sunny days, be prepared with sunscreen, hats and sunvisors. A small unbrella is not uncommon for some extra shade.

  • What if I need to cancel?
  • In short, yes you can cancel, but you risk the entire rental fee. Houses are not like hotels, we book up months in advance. Many times a cancellation to us means we passed over other potential renters and now may be unable to re-rent the property. In certain instances where we can see that the cancellation is due to a hardship, we will credit a portion of any rents we received from re-renting. This is at our discretion, and we urge you to please contact reservations for information about our Travel/Cancellation Insurance. This insurance is HIGHLY recommended and is available for an additional fee (third party reservations are not eligible). Please contact reservations and they will be happy to send you additional information or you may call CSA Travel Protection at 866-999-4018, or visit their website at www.vacationrcntalinsurancc.com for more information.

  • What is the typical weather in Palm Springs?
  • Palm Springs has more than 350 days of sunshine and less than 5 inches of rain a year. The geography gives Palm Springs its famed warm, dry climate. At 487 feet above sea level, Palm Springs is sheltered by the Little San Bernardino Mountains to the north, the Santa Rosa Mountains on the south, and the San Jacinto Mountains to the west with its towering 10,831 foot peak, site of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway.

    Winter temperatures average in the 70s during the day with and the mid-40s at night. The dry desert heat of summer pushes daytime temperatures into the 100s, which is enjoyed by sun seekers. Rainfall is almost non-existent and the humidity is low in the Palm Springs area. Rainfall is limited to about 5.8 inches, with 10 or fewer days each year during which rain actually falls in Palm Springs, California.

  • What methods of payment do you accept?
  • We accept Visa, Master Card, American Express, Discover, personal and business US checks, as well as e-checks.

  • What other fees are there besides rent?
  • Along with the $69 damage waiver fee for reservations up to 14 days, any stays longer than 14 days require a security deposit, we also collect transient occupancy tax (per mandatory City of Palm Springs ordinance), which is 11.5% of the total rent for stays under 29 days, cleaning fee, pet fee (if applicable), and utility usage fee.

  • When are the pools heated?
  • We typically start heating pools from October through April. This may vary according to the season.
