Palm Springs Villagefest: Why Everyone Makes It a Pitstop When Visiting

Palm Sprigngs Village Fest

When visiting Palm Springs and its neighboring communities, there’s no shortage of things to do. Between basking in the sun among your perfectly manicured vacation home and exploring the art, culture, and history of the area, it’s safe to say you’re going to leave Palm Springs already making a plan to come back. So, where to start? That’s easy - you start with an event that will delight and capture the essence of Palm Springs - the Palm Springs VillageFest.

Taking place on Thursday nights throughout the year, this Palm Springs street fair boasts over 180 different street vendors covering arts, crafts, food, and entertainment. Typically running from 7 - 10 PM, watch the sunset behind the mountains while strolling along the famous Palm Canyon Drive in the heart of downtown Palm Springs.

ACME House Company is here to give you the scoop on everything Palm Springs VillageFest, and for the most up-to-date information, be sure to check out their website!

An Eclectic Shoppers Delight

As we said, the Palm Springs VillageFest brings in 180+ local artists, entertainers, and food suppliers, giving you 180+ opportunities to immerse yourself in the Palm Springs lifestyle. Each artist brings their unique spin on the area, from original art to curated vintage pieces. A complete list of current vendors can be found on their site, but we have some honorable mentions you should swing by when visiting this Palm Springs street fair.

WIC’s Photography - From city streets to mountain landscapes, WIC’s Photography strives to capture the raw emotion on the other side of the lens. Be sure to check out this selection of prints and originals and take home an inspired piece of art.

Antique Galleries of Palm Springs - With a storefront located just south of downtown, this vintage shop brings some of their most popular vintage, retro, and antique ‘everything’ (really! We’re talking apparel, collectibles, jewelry, artwork - we could go on, but you should just check it out) to the Palm Springs VillageFest every Thursday.

Faerytale Beginnings - If you’re looking for a Palm Springs-inspired outfit for your little one, Faerytale Beginnings is known for its handmade apparel that’s stylish and hip. They also do custom orders, so if you’re not seeing the perfect set, grab a business card on your way out.

A Foodie’s Dream

From small bites to delicious plates of food, the Palm Springs VillageFest has food vendors for pretty much every person’s preference. If you don’t feel like making dinner in your vacation home, the VillageFest is a great place to grab authentic and homemade grub. Not to mention, Palm Canyon Drive itself is packed with popular restaurants sure to impress. Some VillageFest favorites? We thought you’d never ask.

Julian’s at Main Street - This pop-up offers Middle Eastern cuisine, from fresh pita and hummus to shawarma and falafel. Make sure to pick up some of their baklava for the perfect sweet treat.

The Tamale Guy - All in the name, this guy’s slinging handmade tamales during the Palm Springs VillageFest.

Dates-R-Us - This farmers market offers a selection of dates, dried fruit, nuts, and candy. The perfect pick-me-up after a long day exploring Palm Springs.

E & E Pels, Inc. - Especially on those hot Palm Springs nights, be sure to pick up one of these soft frozen Italian ices.

Be Entertained!

After shopping to your heart's desire and filling up on delicious treats, arguably one of the best things to do at the VillageFest is to enjoy the live entertainment. This Palm Springs street fair rotates in local talent every Thursday, so be sure to swing by to take in a jam session or two.

In addition to rotating musicians, you’ll also stumble across horse-drawn carriage rides, lively dance performances, and more.

Palm Canyon Drive - An Event In Itself

Palm Canyon Drive is a two-mile stretch of road that runs through the center of downtown Palm Springs, known for street-lined Palm trees, curated shopping and dining, and the VillageFest, of course. It’s also home to the Palm Springs Walk of Stars, honoring celebrities who have contributed to Greater Palm Springs.

Whether you’re looking for some afternoon exercise by foot or bicycle, designer boutiques carrying a vast selection of looks, or art galleries showcasing local and regional artists, Palm Canyon Drive is worth a visit when in Palm Springs.
