SUMMER IS HERE: Live Life – Like it’s the Last Day of School!

PALM SPRINGS, CA – Finally! Summer is here – that stretch of long, lazy days when we are less hassled with responsibilities and more focused on making memories. It’s a time to catch lightening bugs in a jar, stay in the pool until you’re wrinkled like a prune, and make late night runs for ice cream. While Spring may be the time for new beginnings –  we all know Summer is when memories are made.

20110927-HilltopDriveIn1950sIt doesn’t matter whether you’re a pint-size 8 year old or a child of the 1950s who is maturing gracefully. These early days of Summer are full of promise, overflowing with optimism and downright exciting. It’s the end of June – so live life – like it’s the last day of school.

1960s-family-carRemember those road trips with Mom & Dad? At the time, they seemed lame and torturous – but now, all these years later – that’s the thing you and your sisters talk about every time you get together.  And how about those Summers at The Lake with the cousins?

Summer – it’s when you fell in love for the first time, learned to ride a bike, and actually got to know that uncle from up north. Its also when you first met that kid from around the block – the lifelong friend who stood up for you at your first (and maybe second) wedding.

PALM SPRINGS – 7/14/15 –  Working toward their goal of collecting 15,000 pounds of food for Well in the Desert, the Palm Springs Regional Association of Realtors (PSRAR) is making a Final Push on their Annual Food Drive that officially ends tomorrow .

A special Final Push drop point has been set up at Hidden Haven, a vacation rental property located at 1440 South Indian Trail, Palm Springs. City residents and visitors alike are encouraged to bring last minute donations of non-perishable food items or cash/check donations to the Final Push drop site between Noon and 2:00 PM on Wednesday, July 15, 2015.

“We are so close to making our goal – we just need that final push to put us over the top,” explained Debra Comer, a member of the PSRAR Food Drive Committee. “At this point a single bottle of water or jar of peanut butter can really make a difference. So we are hoping people will grab a few things from their pantry to donate. We are encouraging everyone to stop by the Final Push for a glass of lemonade while supporting the cause. As a bonus they’ll get a sneak peek at Hidden Haven, a beautiful vacation rental home managed by Acme House Co.

This year, the Special Events Committee of the Palm Springs Regional Association of Realtors got creative in their approach to their Annual Food Drive by adding some friendly competition to the mix.  For the past four weeks, more than a dozen local real estate offices have been racing to raise the most food and cash for the drive.  Each of the competing offices created a drop point in their office and encouraged their agents and clients to make donations.  Each week the donations are measured and the results of the competition are announced at the weekly PSRAR meetings.

The winning office will get to display the Food Drive Biggest Heart Award, which has been donated by  Baccarat in Palm Desert.

According to Ms. Comer, “The competitive slant has been a real motivator. The brokers and agents are having fun with it. It has been great to see the entire real estate community pull together for this great cause. Each office really wants to win this thing – but of course the real winners will be those in need who are served by Well in the Desert.”

Here is a list of Real Estate offices that have generously participated in the PSRAR Food Drive.
