Very private…quiet and comfortable…we were there leading up to our daughters wedding so there was lots to do and it was perfect as our home away from home. Bedrooms and bathrooms are very spacious.

Great from start to finish, easy check in and even easier check out process. Loved the location and neighborhood being so close to downtown Ventura. We walked to dinner and lunch many days without thinking of driving and felt safe and secure the entire time. We will gladly be a returning guests for future visits. Our host was a very helpful and amazingly friendly neighbor.

We had a wonderful stay at this bnb! The space was well stocked, beautifully decorated, and very walkable. Not a comment on the bnb but beware of the steep slope on Palm St driving towards the property (not unpassable though quite the shock at 10 pm in a packed Prius).

This property is very close to downtown Ventura, hiking trails, beaches, restaurants and shopping. Ventura has a small town feel even when packed with vistors for big events (X games). There are lots of activities and events happening, but access to beaches and the downtown is within walking distance of this property. Enjoy some great fishing and surfing along the CA coast. Close to harbors for swimming and paddleboarding.

The house has a mixed of trendy and traditional touch. There were a family of 5 ranging from 16 - 78. House had lots of amenities in additional to what was listed (cable, laundry soap, coffee, etc.) Located was awesome. Able to walk/run to the beach. Downtown is few minutes away if you want eat or shop around. Grocery store is steps away. This is just a great vacation place. High recommend if you just want to relax.

If you want to walk downtown Ventura, this spot is perfect. You can walk up the hill to Serra Cross for great views or to the downtown restaurant/shopping area and carry down to the beach. There is a steep section down to downtown but we managed, even with a stroller. As others mention, the road can be busy and so backing out can be a pain. There is also only one parking spot, but we were always able to find a street spot within a few houses away. The neighborhood is fairly nice (it's California, homes are over a $1MM), but I wouldn't say downtown Ventura is totally the safest area. The grocery store Vons has a guard out front. This house seemed to be a fine area. I would stay again! The house was as described. We were there with three kids three and under and it was great. Room for two pack and plays and a bassinet. There is a china cabinet and some books on a shelf we had to discourage but otherwise no clutter for kids to get into. Hosts were very responsive over messaging.

It was my son's wedding and we enjoyed staying at this Airbnb. The weather was great, and the home was very nice and comfortable. This home did not have any cigarette smoke smell like the previous place we stayed in Glendora, so that was extremely nice. The home was clean and organized. Everything we needed such as coffee spots, shopping, and restaurants (e.g. Cafe Fiore) was close and easy to find. Met one of the family members in passing and they were super nice and informative. The only negative was the construction going on next door, but they should be done with the construction very soon. I would definitely stay at this Airbnb again without any hesitation.

We booked this place for some family that came into town. It was perfect. The space is beautiful and the location is hard to beat. The hosts live next door and made themselves available if needed, but also gave space. Loved it and would definitely recommend it.

Great location that’s walkable to great restaurants, shopping and the beach. Used it for our access to great hiking in the area (Channel Islands, Migu Peak, Inspiration Point in Santa Barbara, Santa Paula Canyon) and urban hiking in town. We loved staying in this charming very old house. The fig, orange and avocado trees provided some luscious local fruit. The gas fireplace was a highlight. Location is old town Ventura, 5 minute drive to the fairgrounds and the beach. Grocery store nearby. I loved the layout of the house. It is on a busy street, but the bedrooms are way back on the property so you don't hear street noise. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, pans, blender, every possible dish and more in the dining room buffet, even table linens. No plastic wrap, plastic food storage or baggies provided. The house has lots of furnishings from another era. Problems: no house entry info was received so we stood and waited in the dark, panicked about how to get into the house. Toilet seat very loose and construction next door was going on LOUDLY 3' from our bedroom window starting at 7:30 AM...a real vacation downer for those who wish to sleep in a bit! Notified host who hired them but no change nor repair made.

There were three adults and two children and we stayed for two nights and three days. The home was spacious and very clean. The kitchen was great. The setting was beautiful with lots of trees and plants. The only drawback was the living room. There was just one couch and no other chair which made it difficult for five people to sit and watch TV. We definitely enjoyed our stay.

Our stay was very comfortable in the cozy beds and we appreciated the nice furnishings. It was very clean and welcoming, and we enjoyed the eclectic furnishings. We felt like we were staying at a friend's home! The kitchen and appliances were A+. Loved the request to remove shoes to keep the place nice and clean. The location was superb, just above downtown and a short walk to the beach.

We had a great stay in Ventura. The house was very clean and well equipped. Most importantly it had three bedrooms! It was a great location for our visit to this area of of California. We arrived after visiting Joshua Tree National Park and was only a 5 minute drive to the Ventura Pier for our ferry to the Channel Islands. We were also very close to several beaches. Downtown Ventura had excellent dining options as well. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the property

This AirBnb is hard to beat. It's at a fantastic location - walking distance from downtown Ventura, the mission and the beach! My wife and I stayed here for several weeks to celebrate our honeymoon and thoroughly enjoyed it. The house is very comfortable and cute - the owners have put a lot of love into it and it shows. The garden is magical. The owners of the house live in a smaller unit on the property - they are super friendly and don't intrude with your privacy at all. Overall, highly recommended!

The online pictures don't do justice to this property. It has all of the charm and character of a well maintained older home. It was spacious and well equipped. We had 6 adults in town for a niece's wedding and we never felt cramped at all. The large kitchen with modern appliances was perfect for those who like to cook. The entryway garden is beautiful and shows a flare for artistic creativity. It is a 10 minute walk to a vibrant downtown area where we spent time at the local farmer's market. We would definitely stay there again and highly recommend to others.

This was a wonderful stay. It provided all the space we needed for a wedding weekend for a group of four. Likewise, it was a perfect location - 25 minutes from Santa Barbara but situated in the perfect neighborhood walkable to the town square. Our only suggestions would be better toiletries, amenities in the house and more thorough washing of some areas of the house.

The home is lovely; exactly as shown in the photos. I loved waking up and drinking coffee by the fireplace. The management company is excellent – if you have any questions they respond immediately. I do want to mention a few things: I would suggest cleaning thoroughly behind the couch, nightstands, etc. When I went to plug in my phone and laptop it was really dusty. Replace the area rugs, particularly the one in the living room; it bunches when you step on it, creating a trip hazard; it is laid out over not a slip pad, but an older, dirty rug. The bedroom closest to the kitchen – replace the nightstand and bedside lamp. The nightstand is too small to put anything on, and the light from the lamp is almost nonexistent; there’s not enough light to read a book.

We only had time to visit family but Ventura is a great little town. It looked like there were so much going on within walking distance, like breweries, shops, farmers market, live music, etc. Wish we could have gone to the beach which is only a few minutes away. We would definitely stay here again if we need 3 bedrooms.

The house was very cute and clean. We enjoyed our time there and would happily return. It was an easy walk into downtown Ventura and during COVID, Main Street was only open to pedestrians with lots of outdoor dining choices. We opted for take out but it was nice waking downtown and fun taking our young children down to the beach and the boardwalk to scooter. It was a lovely break and mini vacation.

Our trip at the Casa Bartsch was more than outstanding. There was everything we needed and much more! From the views to the thoughtful touches around the house, it all made this trip better than expected. We would definitely stay here again, it was not only spotless but was also in a great location to hike, walk downtown or even go to the beach. And let’s not forget about the amazing balcony that makes you feel like you are in a beautiful tropical location! We used that area to enjoy evening reading with our baby! The owners were more than pleasant. They made our stay even better!

The main challenge is parking is tight and at times street traffic is heavy...suggest backing in to space Overall great value and experience!

This was one of the best Airbnb rentals I've had. The place was really nicely set up for travelers. We had two families staying here and the space was perfect: good kitchen with plenty of pots and pans, outdoor balcony, bedrooms away from the common areas, etc. The place was walkable to the beach, downtown Ventura shops, the botanical gardens and more. We enjoyed the orange tree in the front courtyard!

This house is amazing. It was comfortable, clean and luxurious. In fact, the décor was so beautiful we had to put a few things away in closets because we had a 2 year old with us. The location was awesome...walking distance to downtown Ventura, the thrift shops and tons of places to eat. Easy driving distance to all the beaches. It was perfect. The wifi is slow, but who needs wifi when you have the beach?

This rental is truly a gem and made our stay in Ventura super comfortable. The owners clearly took the time to think of any thing that might be useful and then went above and beyond in providing more. Beds were very comfy with extra linens available, towels plentiful, kitchen well stocked, they even have a variety of coffee ready for brewing. The lush greenery and beautiful views really complete this relaxing retreat.

What a great base from which to explore the Ventura, Santa Barbara and Ojai areas. Whale watching, beaches and wine tasting-it’s all nearby this charming house. And it’s walkable to the downtown area with restaurants and shopping. I just love the Ventura “vibe.” House has been recently remodeled and all is in good order: Clean, nice bedding and fully fitted kitchen which I really appreciated. Big living area as well as large dining area. I would definitely stay here again

This 3 bedroom house was perfect for catching up with friends and family over the holidays. Mike and Shelia were wonderful hosts and were right next door to help with any questions we had. The place was clean and we had everything we needed in the kitchen. We loved opening the windows to soak in the CA air during the day and were grateful we could turn on the heat during the chilly nights! Overall, I would highly recommend this place if you are planning a stay in Ventura. Casa Bartsch is quiet and relaxing and a short walk to the shops and restaurants downtown.

We stayed here for the holidays. The place was spacious and comfortable for the five of us. Nice views of the mountains from the bedrooms. The place was a short walk to all the shops and restaurants in downtown Ventura. (And short walk to the beach, too!) The place had several convenient features -- we used the well-equipped kitchen for several meals, the roku TV was great for hanging out on the couch by the fire, and there is a convenient parking space. Highly recommended.

Our girls weekend celebrating a birthday was perfect at this 3 bedroom oasis—conveniently located to walk to downtown, take a day trip to Ojai, shop in Montecito. Kitchen was fully equipped ti prepare a birthday dinner. Airy, refreshing, relaxing with all the amenities to feel at home.
