Welcome to the Mostero House where architecture, art, design and natural desert landscape converge to create a very special Palm Springs masterpiece. More than 3,000 square feet of pure desert decadence - an exceptional work of art and design that blurs the lines between indoor and outdoor living. This is a very special property created for Modernism Purists who want to immerse themselves in the true Palm Springs experience.

OUTDOOR LIVING SPACES
The grounds of this home are uniquely gorgeous. The stunning desert landscape and striking architecture create the ideal canvas for the original art masterpieces painted by renown artist Zio Ziegler specifically for this property. The Mostero House commissioned the San Francisco-based artist to create nine larger than life murals that seem to dance around the exterior of the home - creating a unique and inspiring visual experience. These words from Zio Ziegler sum up the vibe: "There is no meaning except for that which the viewer designates. My paintings begin with an existential journey, and can only end with an absurdist conclusion - the rest is just a vehicle for conveying this."

INDOOR LIVING SPACES
First built in 1954, this iconic ranch-style home has been entirely reimagined by the current owner - an architect who acquired the property from his family. The home has been reconfigured to open up the interior while respecting its midcentury roots. The result is an open concept floor plan with four deluxe sleeping quarters, an additional swanky mid mod lounge and expansive walls of glass that blur the lines between indoor and outdoor living in true Palm Springs style.

The modern kitchen opens to the interior dining and living areas. Finishes include period-specific brickwork for the fireplace, walnut paneling as well as polished concrete and terrazzo floors. State-of-the-art recessed lighting sourced from Scandinavia enhances the home’s modern aesthetic. Furnishings include carefully selected pieces by South American designer Carlos Vergara and French company Kann Design, along with treasures from the owner’s collection by Hannah Morrison, Roberto Pamio, Noti Massari, Renato Toso, Arne Jacobsen among others.

SLEEPING QUARTERS
Sweet dreams await in all of the bedrooms at the Mostero House. Each bedroom has private spa-like baths, with two primary king bedroom suites that have direct access to the unbelievable pool area or front patio. No matter what bedroom you chose, you'll have your own private oasis to rest after a sun-filled day splashing around in the pool!

The Mostero House sits proudly on an oversized corner parcel in Old Las Palmas - surrounded by other palatial homes, walled estates and historically significant properties with ties to vintage Hollywood. • 100% Refund for Cancellations within 48 Hours of Making Booking - ACME House Company will process a 100% refund for cancellations made within 48 hours of making a booking.
• Greater than 60 Days Prior to Arrival - Guests will receive 100% Refund of all Reservations Charges
• Greater than 48 Hours from Booking and Between 30 Days - 59 Days Prior to Arrival - Guests will receive a refund of all Reservations Charges (Except Booking Fee).
• Greater than 48 Hours from Booking and between 8 & 29 Days Prior to Arrival Prior to Arrival - Guests will receive a partial refund of 50% of all Reservation Charges (Except Booking Fee).
• Greater than 48 Hours from Booking and 7 Days or Less Prior to Arrival - 100% of All Reservation Charges are considered earned.

The house was amazing

The house was amazing, but it did have some issues. The toilet in one bathroom didn't flush properly, the pool light didn't work, the towel bar in another bathroom kept falling off of the wall, and the sink in the back bathroom didn't work at all. Someone was in the house working on an electrical issue when we arrived, but he quickly finished. Our checkout time was 10am, however the gardeners arrived at 8:30am and started blowing dirt around right next to us as we were trying to load our car. We had to ask them to stop to keep it from getting in our car. The communication from the host was great, but the several reminders of the rules via voice, text, and email were a little much. We were there for a quiet relaxing weekend and it was a little annoying. However the house was so great we would recommend it to others, despite the maintenance issues.

Great location and a huge house. Perfect for 4 couples since each bedroom had a private bath, and the house had 2 living rooms. Walkable to downtown Palm Springs with coffee shop and cool bar two blocks away. ACME was a great host—responsive, polite, and professional. Probably the best host I’ve ever had. The main drawbacks are no hot tub, which was clear when renting the house. That’s said, a house of this price should have a hot tub. Second, it’s very expensive—probably too expensive. Okay if you have 4 couples but it’s pricier than a very nice hotel. Overall, we had a nice stay.

My friends and I had a dream weekend at Mostero House and would gladly book our next Palm Springs visit through the ACME House Company. The house itself was the best I've rented of all my many Palm Springs visits: it was stylish, recently renovated, unique, and well appointed. The kitchen was easily the best I've ever seen in Palm Springs and the beds especially were comfy and fresh. The pool set-up was perfect, though worth noting that there is no hot tub (ACME is upfront about that, but a lot of people assume there will be one). The ACME team is also very responsive: we had an issue with our TV on the Friday evening when we arrived and they had it fixed that same night. On top of all of that, the location couldn't be better: Palm Spring is BIG and it's really nice to be in walking distance of some of the shopping and coffee shops. Highly recommend!

A Mid-Century Modern Classic

This house was an amazing place to spend some time in Palm Springs! Recently renovated but in keeping with its mid-century modern roots, the house is very clean and open with lots of space. The kitchen was super well equipped, with multiple methods for making coffee and even a blender. The unique murals on the exterior walls really add to the cool vibe. It's only two blocks to the main street, which has lots of restaurants and things to do, so you can easily walk to a lot of places. The house is super interesting, and it was a lot of fun just looking at all the details. The highlight is definitely the pool! Make sure you leave time in your schedule at Palm Springs to just hang out and swim and relax by the pool! I will definitely stay here again when I visit Palm Springs!

Overall Comment Great house for a weeks holiday. It is walkable distance to the upper end of the main PS strip. This part of PS is really quiet with minimal traffic, friendly morning walkers, and a serene mountain outlook. This would be a good choice for two families or a family with some teenagers as there are inside two living zones and bedrooms are spread throughout. Easy, relaxed, spacious living.

It’s always a gamble when you book a rental home, we definitely hit the jackpot with this one! The design was really thoughtful with details like blackout curtains, beautiful outdoor lighting and integrated art everywhere. We had so much space all 6 guests had plenty of privacy and could sleep in or rise early. Walking around the neighborhood was just a gift, vista Las Palmas is really just so special. You are walking distance to downtown yet you don’t hear a thing at night. We were also surprised to find a big party room to watch movies or play cards! Hanging out at the pool was lovely and easy because it’s not too deep. Don’t hesitate to make this your home in Palm Springs on your next trip.

Loved our stay at Mostero House. Whenever we go to Palm Springs we stay in this area (Las Palmas). The houses are amazing and this one was no exception. The house is spacious with bedrooms on opposite sides of the house (nice for a little privacy). The main living room was huge and beautifully decorated. The only think I would change is the seating in the TV-watching room. The couch, while nice to look at, was not particularly comfortable for watching movies. But that was a small detail and we had an amazing stay and appreciated the change of scenery during the pandemic.

A Great Stay

Overall Comment This house was gorgeous and plenty spacious enough for two families each with two kids to spread out and have their own space. We loved the simplicity of bedroom furniture and comfort of having a great living room and separate family room for the kids. We only had two issues- the Wifi was super spotty and shutdown a couple times, which affected those who were trying to work and the ability to stream cartoons for the kids. The 2nd issue was even in 100 degree summer heat, the pool wasn't warmed and a little chilly for some of us. When I read about the house it made mention to the pool being heated but I didn't realize that was only during winter months and you had to request it be heated during summer (at an extra charge). The issues were minor enough and we still had an awesome stay.

The house was beautiful - it was huge, well decorated and had great amenities. We found everything from the beds to the furniture to be incredibly comfortable, and the location couldn't have been better! Our favorite tiki bar was just down the street, and next to a fantastic artisinal coffee shop. The noise ordinance that others mention wasn't a problem at all, and it was great to learn from the concierge that checked us in that it was a city-wide ordinance and not something specific to the home or the neighborhood. Acme was super responsive when we encountered an issue, and they went above and beyond in responding to it. We also found out that the property has an available concierge that can help you prior to your trip by doing some grocery shopping and other activities. Once we arrived, they were able to book on-site massages for several of our guests. Loved everything about our stay and would definitely stay again!

Great Rental House

Overall Comment We rented the Mostero House with three other couples for a week in March. The house was more beautiful in person than online. It was very cleaned when we got there, and the pantry was well stocked with basics. A quick trip to the grocery store allowed us to eat many meals in the house instead of always eating out. The pool maintenance folks come twice a week and the landscaper once a week so everything is kept pristine during your visit. Each couple loved their en suite bedrooms and the large open common space. Very close to Palm Canyon road, walked to the coffee shop, several cool Uptown galleries and shops, and easy access to the trolley. Would definitely stay here again.

Great experience with the property manager and the property. Much of the home, including the kitchen, felt totally new, and we enjoyed the style of the furnishings and amenities. Our family loved the pool, it was clean, well-maintained, with plenty of places to relax. The landscaping is also beautiful and the murals/art on both the inside and outside really provide a nice aesthetic. The location was also enjoyable, down the street from a fun bar and good coffee shop and near the main attractions of PS.

Nicest House I've Ever Stayed In

I just hosted 6 friends at the Zio Ziegler house to celebrate my husband's birthday. Everyone arrived before we did and I got identical texts from each person saying The house is SICK. And it is. It may be the nicest house I've ever stayed in. The bedrooms are all large, have their own en suites, king beds, beautiful furniture and bedding. The one thing we all could not get over was how expensive and beautiful the furnishings are. We all have knowledge of mid century antiques and this house is filled with authentic mid century antiques in impeccable condition. It's truly a special space. The pool was awesome. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen and on the BBQ. The location is great. There are amazing views of the mountains from the pool area. Acme was great to deal with from the get go. They're very fast at communicating and were accommodating. It was a very good experience renting from them.

We were a group of Social Influencers on a short stay but every moment was magical. What I liked most is that this is an atypical property. It is the perfect combination of Avant-garde sensibility and classic Palm Springs style. Midcentury meets Couture Home Design. Iconic 1950s architecture combined with contemporary industrial-inspired elements. The murals by Zio Ziegler were inspiring. The furnishings were stunning. The entire vibe was low key yet elegant. Probably not for everyone but certainly for me and the ladies I was with for these few wonderful days and nights.

Loved Everything About This Property!

My stay here was too short. Way too short. My job takes me all over the country to many different hotels, boutique inns and vacation rentals. When I found out my Palm Springs Girls Trip was placing us in a property that had never been rented before, my expectations were low. Upon pulling up to this property I was over the top impressed. Around every corner was another Wow Moment! The online pictures are beautiful but don't do it justice. The management company was solicitous without hovering. The kitchen was well stocked and the location was perfect - just a block or so to all the restaurants, shops and galleries. Thank you to the property owners for not pandering to the least common denominator by creating someplace very special.

The Zio Zigler house is very lovely--spacious and luxurious. It was not the house we actually reserved--they changed our house a week or two before we were scheduled to arrive which was stressful. However, we were very happy with our accommodations. We had a struggle getting in with the code they gave us, and had an alarm buzzing late at night on our first night there. They came out within a half an hour to deal with it, but it was still a bit annoying. The fixtures of the house were very nice and it is very close to restaurants, etc.
