The open-concept design of the living/dining/kitchen area is perfect for entertaining guests, while the three spacious bedrooms, complete with king and twin-size beds, provide a soothing and sophisticated escape for up to six guests. Outdoor living space features a shimmering saltwater pool, large sunbathing area, alfresco dining, BBQ and mountain vistas.

OUTDOOR LIVING SPACES:
The Chi Chi house boasts a saltwater pool, shaded patio, sunbathing area, alfresco dining, gas BBQ, lush gardens, yard and 20 ft ficus hedge privacy buffer.

Two of the bedrooms and living areas open out to this patio via sliding glass doors. Savor a desert sunrise with vibrant hues of fuschia and gold. Lounge beside the pool with your favorite book or mobile device.

Mountain views are a highlight of this property. You will understand why Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. loved relaxing here for Sunday poolside BBQs. Desert sunsets are magical and the nighttime lighting creates a romantic atmosphere.

INDOOR LIVING SPACES
The exterior is exemplary, mid-mod Palm Springs architecture. The well-designed interior fosters togetherness in the open design, and also supports more intimate groupings in the varied living spaces. Rare memorabilia from the Chi Chi Supper Club adorn the interior walls. The art deco style living room embodies a Tahitian style, featuring retro Polynesian art and sculpture.

The living area of this home includes a sunken conversation area with a flagstone and slate fireplace. Jazz enthusiasts will be delighted by the original Chi Chi Lounge piano, which sits just to the left of the fireplace. You can almost hear Peggy Lee or Ella Fitzgerald belting out a tune while Buddy Greco tickles the ivories on the upright piano.

The Chi Chi House living room includes a TV area where you can relax and stream your favorite shows. Browse the web or dock your iPhone or iPad to enjoy your favorite music.

The fully-equipped kitchen and bar area offers a retro, classic vibe with thick granite countertops, state-of-the-art stainless appliances, and original retro fixtures. The original owner’s daughter remembers everyone from Rudy Valle and Jane Russell to Johnny Mathis & Louis Armstrong helping themselves to coffee in the adorable pink & white kitchen. You’re in good company here!

Enjoy views of the pool from the glass top breakfast table with upholstered seating for four. Mix a highball at the sleek bar with original club chairs from the Starlite Room. Gather for conversations in the sunken living room or formal dining table with retro seating for six.

SLEEPING QUARTERS
Chi Chi House offers three spacious bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms. There are two primary suites with King Beds. The third bedroom has two twin beds (which can be pushed together and outfitted to make a King.)

The primary suite opens out to the pool area and the spacious bathroom boasts a huge/double vanity with double sinks, make-up counter with chair, and a vintage tiled step-down tub highlighted by an original cut-glass window from the famous Sardi's Nightclub.

The second king suite also has a large vanity and mirrors awash in lots of natural light-perfect for getting glamorous! The twin suite, which opens out to the pool, has 2 twin beds and a full bath with period pastel tile. Each bedroom also has flatscreen TVs.

THE LOCATION
Deepwell Estates is a glitzy and classic Palm Springs neighborhood that has been home to Hollywood elites such as Tippi Hedren and Jerry Lee Lewis. This neighborhood is located walking distance from the hottest night spots, like the Purple Room, Mr. Lyon’s, the Saguaro and The Ace Hotel. The area includes a number of hip boutique hotels popular for their retro vibe and splashes of bold color.

Stroll to dynamite dining, galleries & boutiques. SOPA, Europa, Appetito and Pho 533 are five-star establishments just down the block. Three individual ensuites for three women, a necessity!!! Perfect at the Chi Chi House. Huge relaxing/entertainment areas. Covered patio deck for poolside relaxation our of the sun, if desired. Spotlessly clean house. Awesome vintage decor. Original tile and fixtures in kitchen and bathrooms in MINT condition. Smallish kitchen but functional and well equipped. Fantastic locatio five minutes or less (driving) from charming downtown Palm Springs restarting, museums, and shopping. Would be ideal for three couples, as all three bedrooms/bathrooms are in separate corners of the house. Will definitely book the Chi Chi House again.

Three delightful nights

We three senior women spent three delightful nights at Chi Chi house. It was the perfect location, as we could be parked in downtown Palm Springs within five minutes of leaving the house (we had a car). Each of us had a huge bedroom and our own FULL attached bathroom. Three separate ensuites is very difficult to find. This would also be a perfect arrangement for three couples, as the bedrooms are completely separate from one another in different corners of the house. The entertainment/living/dining space is HUGE and very comfortable. The backyard patio is covered so you can relax poolside and be out of direct sun. The interior decor was like a time capsule from the 50s. We loved it. Original tile and fixtures in mint condition. The house was spotlessly clean and the kitchen (though smallish) was well appointed. We all agreed we would totally go back to ChiChi house.

Great spacious home and very clean. Very easy self check in. Beautiful back yard and many areas to sit and relax. The bar was fun. We really appreciated there were not any requirements for check out. Only complaint is the mattresses were very hard and uncomfortable and water pressure extremely, very, low which made showering difficult. But would still stay there again, thank you for hosting us

Palm Springs Gem

We were a party of six gals in Palm Springs for a long weekend and Chi Chi house did not disappoint! It was well presented in pics and descriptions and house was everything as advertised. We enjoyed the Chi Chi memorabilia as well around the sunken wet bar! The management brought extra fans to put in our bedrooms to keep the airflow as Palm Springs in July can be toasty. The only thing I feel was a miss for me was the lack of hooks or towel bars in "blue" bathroom. Hard to hang wet bath towels, robe or to dry wet bathing suits. Other than that I would definitely stay and recommend the Chi Chi for a Palm Springs "mid century"experience!! Oh, the pool! Plenty big for 6 gals with floaties and it being salt water made it more enjoyable then chlorine!

We have stayed at the Chi house on several occasions and this stay was just as comfortable as before. The communication, text messages, phone calls, and overall responsiveness from ACME staff is and has been wonderful at each step. If you haven't stayed at the house, the outdoor space (also recently painted), the kitchen is well equipped, and the space layout between the bedrooms which all have private baths made this a perfect stay for us and our friends during 14 day Christmas Holiday.

The living/dining area was perfect for 6 people. We had room for everyone to spread out. The bar area was wonderful, we haven't had that kind of arrangement in any other rental. If I built another house, I would use the large common area as a blueprint. I did adjust to the road noise at night. Sunrise is a busy street. The swimming pool was one of the nicest we've had. We loved the history of the house. Would rent again.

We had a wonderful stay at Chi Chi House! We loved the mid-century decor, which was comfortable and functional. We were two couples staying there and the house was more than big enough. We especially enjoyed the layout of the backyard with the pool, lots of places to sit and a covered section for when we wanted to sit in the shade. The house is centrally located, and it was easy to go just about anywhere. We also enjoyed taking walks in the beautiful neighborhood. Check-in and check-out were easy. We hope to go back next year!

Went away for a friends weekend and could not have been happier with our home selection. This mid century modern home was large, comfortable, and well appointed. All bedrooms have their own bathroom and televisions. The living space has some wonderful art pieces (watch those little ones) and is large enough for all to gather comfortably. The backyard is private with a bbq and a pool. A really lovely historical home. Would definitely book again.

Five adult friends escaped from Los Angeles for the weekend and had a great time. The house is just as advertised and fully of character. There is a wide array of dishes and cookware which was great since we cooked all of our meals. Charles and the team were great, easy in, easy out. The only caution we’d give is to be aware the TVs aren’t smart TVs but fortunately we had our Chromecast so we could watch streaming apps. As for the noise ordinance, we were worried at first, but it really was a nice break to not play music around the pool and chat it up instead. Would definitely recommend and stay here again!

This is a lovely and fun home. The pool was great - but, the sunshine and secluded backyard was amazing. The beds were so comfortable! The kitchen is fully supplied and was easy to cook out meals. We like having recycling too. Great time to read, relax, and quietly chat with one another. If you are someone who does not like music or noise of anykind, this is the place to stay. There are strict rules about noise of anykind.The street and air conditioning noises are pretty noticable, especially without being able to play my classical music.

Overall Comment We love, love, love this house. The art is amazing; and the sunken bar? What fun! The pool is big and the grounds are gorgeous. My husband couldn't stop talking about how comfortable the bed was. The two things to know: 1) The house does not have a spa. I can assure you, in January, it would have been very welcomed. 2) The house is on a very busy street. This was a bit stressful for us because we had our puppy with us, so every time the front door was opened, there was high vigilance. Otherwise, we had an amazing time - this is one of our favorite houses in PS!

Overall Comment Great house for a classic PS experience. We had pretty bad weather for half our trip but luckily there is a covered area by the pool to let us be outside despite the rain. We had an issue with a coffee maker that didn't work, but it was replaced very quickly by the housing mgt team. A bit expensive for a couple, but would be very reasonable for 4 or more adults. Location is about a large city block distance to a plaza w stores, including a supermarket and some casual restaurants. One negative would be that there is some noise you can hear from cars/trucks rumbling past at night, even in the back room.

The house and pool were beautiful and as advertised. Perfect for us for a weeklong stay with my dog. There is an added pet fee of $150 which I hadn't noticed. No problem, but was tricky getting in touch with them to tell them I had a dog in the house. Palm Springs has STRICT vacation rental regulations and the rules are posted all over the property, so you don't forget! Somewhat of a damper, but not the fault the owner. We swam, relaxed, cooked dinner and just chilled out and a really nice time. We would definitely stay here again!

The house isn’t anything fancy by today’s over glorified standards, but it is perfectly nostalgic and in fabulous condition. The concierge process I had initially thought was strange for check in however, it was fantastic to get a walk through and history with the house. It felt like a museum tour going through the chi chi house and rat pack history of the home. It was fun thinking we could be sitting where frank sinatra or dean martin could have sat, or swam in a pool that was the place of swinging parties. The salt water pool is the perfect size for a party of 6 and was divine in the weather we had in late July. I can’t imagine. Better place for us to have spent my husband’s 40th birthday. The only thing we hadn’t accounted for was the noise restrictions. The lack of music made it a little awkward at times. I understand why the rule exists, but it seemed a bit extreme. Also- it’s not anything the property could change as it was a local city ordinance.

We had a wonderful time at the Chi chi house. The backyard is beautiful and we spent most of Saturday out there in the pool. I adore the midcentury decor and the layout of the house was perfect for us. The kids stayed in the "maids quarters" and my sister and I shared the master bedroom. Grandma stayed in a beautiful room in the front. Love the unique bathrooms- nice hot water for showers! The gentleman who checked us in and gave us a tour was very nice. Location is fabulous and we ended the stay with breakfast at Elmer's (which is only 0.5 mi away). Highly recommend the Chi chi house for your next family vacation.

A Comfortable Stay!

We would recommend ACME House Co. without hesitation, and appreciate that they made the rental experience very easy! We picked this property because we liked the location, close to downtown, and also, because the house had 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. We were surprised at how close to the road the home was. An inventory list for the kitchen would be helpful as we hunted a lot to discover if we had what we needed when preparing meals. Otherwise, the house was large, comfortable, and the backyard was beautiful. Also, there are 10 entrances to this house, with 3 entrances at front of house; but no alarm system. This was concerning for us, especially the entrance off the carport into our grandson's bathroom.

We came to get our Modernista Fashionista on - and Chi Chi House did not disappoint. This very cool property was like stepping into a time capsule. The pink kitchen is a hoot. The photos on the wall that tell the story of the Chi Chi Lounge from the owner's family perspective was amazing! The art in the house was so cool. Vintage! Vintage! Vintage.... with a quirky 1980s Palm Springs flair. When we weren't totally tuned into looking at all the old Palm Springs photos we were hanging out at the huge pool. And the yard was so private. Yes. We took our tops off and giggled the whole time. This house is so Palm Springs! We loved this place! We will be back!

Loved staying in this cool midcentury home. So much history. We love architecture and design so this house was perfect for us. We felt like we were on a 1950s television show. Authentic Midcentury Experience

Some friends and I wanted to escape the dreary Seattle weather and found this property and WOW! This house was PERFECT for us! It was a 5 minute cab ride from the airport and within walking distance to a grocery store, restaurants, bars, and shopping. There are so many great bars and restaurants nearby The rooms are so comfortable and relaxing which was perfect after a day BBQing & playing ping pong by the pool. It felt like we could spend all day by that pool! And at night there's a cute little fire pit out there too! Talking to the owner and scheduling the trip was fantastic too. She was super easy to talk to and work with. I cannot recommend this house enough...and am planning on going back again!

Booking & Cancellation Policies

All reservations require a valid photo ID and a signed rental contract.

Short-Term Stays (28 nights or less):

• 100% Refund: Cancel within 48 hours of booking.
• 60+ Days Before Arrival: 100% refund of all charges.
• 30–59 Days Before Arrival: Refund of all charges except the booking fee.
• 8–29 Days Before Arrival: 50% refund of all charges except the booking fee. Booking fee not refunded. 
• 7 Days or Less Before Arrival: No refund.

Long-Term Stays (29 nights or longer):

• 6+ Months Before Arrival: 100% refund.
• 91 Days–6 Months Before Arrival: Refund of all charges except the booking fee.
