Had a great stay at this lovely cabin! I read reviews about the stinky carpet but was pleased to find that they renovated the house with all new wood flooring. The location is excellent - 5min drive to town and a couple min from some great trails like Ernie Maxwell. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking. The sound of the creek on the deck was very relaxing and the hot tub was amazing! It was pretty expensive for a couple nights but worth it for the weekend getaway.

We had the best time at the Dragon’s Lair. It was rustic but comfortable and functional. We spent a lot of time in the hot tub taking in the views of the surrounding mountains. We would recommend this charming cabin and can’t wait to visit again in the autumn.

This place is awesome! what more could anybody want? The location is amazing. walk out the back gate and Strawberry Creek is right there. Cross the creek and walk up to the water tower on paved road. Perfect for off leash walks with fiddo. At end of paved road is a trail to base of Suicide Rock. Fenced in yard perfect for safely letting dog outside to roam. please clean up after your dog! Hot tub worked great. Perfect size and 105 degrees when we checked in. Patio is really nice perfect for having drinks or dinner with sound of creek in background Three bedrooms and two bathrooms plenty of room for everyone. And best of all....only a half mile walk to Humber Park and Devils slide. Not sure why that is not showcased in listing because it's a huge plus. will stay here every time we can when we visit Idyllwild.

Great property. We had a great time and our dogs loved it too. Could use a few renovations, but it is a place to go disconnect a little bit so we had everything that we needed. Very spacious and accommodating. Would definitely book it again. Great management team!

We loved our visit and relaxation time that the cabin afforded. The back deck was a delight. The chairs and couch in the living room was sooo comfy. The driveway was very steep and a bit treacherous with the snow but that’s to be expected for a mountain home. For the love of everything sanitary, please remove the shag carpet from the bathroom. Overall, 10/10 We would love to come back again!

We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin for the Thanksgiving weekend!! It was very well equipped - plenty of towels, shampoo, soaps, etc. and adequately equipped in the kitchen as well with all appliances needed for our stay. The house is very spacious , large rooms, large dining table. The deck in the back with the spa and BBQ was also very spacious and we enjoyed the privacy and the amazing view! The entire property is fenced in which was perfect. It’s not exactly waking distance to the town, but not far at all, just a few minutes drive down the hill. This cabin is in a beautiful location which was perfect for us.! We really enjoyed our stay and we were sad to leave the comfort of this cabin and the beautiful serenity of the location.

The home was stocked with all your basic essentials and much more! The hot tub and the backyard were also great. The home was a great location. Only a few minutes from the main part of town and the house was right next to a great creek and with the jacuzzi it was amazing. The home was big enough for two families and had games and a ton of movies. The place was a little old. There were no extra blankets for the living room which was surprising and the BBQ had no propane. Besides that, we had a great time and would definitely stay there again!

We had a great stay at this house. It was open and spacious, with an unusual layout that the kids loved exploring. It’s very “seventies ski chalet” in stying, with wall-to-wall brown shag carpeting throughout. The furniture is not up to date or modern but it’s comfortable and the whole place was fun and charming. We had roaring fires in the fireplace, we enjoyed the large and clean outdoor hot tub on the deck, we loved being right on the mountain but only 5 minutes from town. The kitchen had good tools and pots and pans, but be prepared to bring everything else, like olive oil, salt, sugar, spices, etc, as nothing is provided. Also, while there are a washer and dryer and a dishwasher, there are no soaps or detergents, so bring them. There wasn’t a ton of hot water, but the beds were pretty comfortable and the house was warm and cozy. The double-height dining room with huge windows was a great place to have our thanksgiving dinner, overlooking the large deck and woods, and we were able to easily get to all the attractions in the area. It was a major bonus that the house was dog and kid friendly without making a big deal about it. The kids LOVED it and spent a lot of time just running around the house. Overall it was an excellent stay, we loved the area and would happily stay at the house again.

Beautiful house in the woods

My 4 kids, 2 dogs and I loved this house. It was very comfortable and spacious. The back porch overlooked the forest and each morning I was able to look out the kitchen window at the picturesque mountain view. Everything wasn't the most updated but it made it feel more like home. The jacuzzi was just the right temperature and my kids thoroughly enjoyed that the most. My only complaint...and the only reason I mention any complaint is for the next person. We ended up arriving at night and the numbering on the houses seems to go out of order...if I remember correctly...it went 24600 then 24630 and 24640...24620 came after that. Either way, the number was on a tree facing the opposite direction than the direction the car was driving and was difficult to see. The next morning I saw another number on a tree going up the driveway but that was a little hidden as well. A very kind man helped us find the house. With ALL that being said...that is my only complaint otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Thank you!

Thanks for a great stay. The house was perfect for the 5 of us. So glad the bunk beds were broken down as my two adult boys appreciated not having to fight over who had to climb stairs. House was clean, loved the back porch. Light switches and TV was alittle confusing but we figure it out. Glad we had our own batteries for the report. Kitchen worked out great as we cooked all our meals at the house. Plenty of pots and pans. Alittle why in bowls for mixing and salad but we figured it all out. For a blazing hot weekend the house stayed nice and cool with all the fans. Close to our hiking trails. Really enjoyed the house and would recommend it to all.

This cabin was everything I could have ever wished for! The Second I pulled up I felt so happy and relaxed, Being surrounded by all those beautiful, tall trees and rocks. Then to go out on the deck to see the gorgeous creek in the back, simply heaven. The Jacuzzi was clean and added so much calmness to this vacation. The house was VERY clean, town was only a six minute drive. My fiancé and I shared some amazing meals using the Bbq and the fully equipped kitchen, we will definitely be back!

Clean, comfortable place to spend a few nights

We stayed in this house for three nights. It was very snowy outside. We thought the house was very comfortable. We come from a house that is very small and hard, and it was lovely to be in the house so big and soft. It was clean when we arrived. The beds were all comfortable, there were lots of towels, there were lots of dishes, the kitchen was fairly well equipped with the usual dull knives. The fireplace was a highlight, The hot tub was very nice once we figured out how to use it. The rear deck is exceptional, it looks out directly onto Strawberry Creek and Suicide Rock. Lowlights: The showers are a mess. The upstairs shower has no pressure whatsoever so you just don't use it, whereas the downstairs shower exerted so much pressure you thought the house was going to fall apart. But there was lots of hot water if you could just manage to get it on your body somehow. The lights were interesting, the fixtures were installed by a trained professional who then let his 3-year-old decide where the switches would be located. Overall we spent three very happy winter nights here, and I would recommend it to anybody who needs to get away from the madness in the valley.

This was a relatively inexpensive stay and we had a great time. One of the chairs broke when someone sat on it, so the potential safety hazards (a couple other chairs were wobbly) should be taken care of before they have additional guests. Otherwise, it was an awesome experience.

The location was great! Not far from the cute little town down the hill and the back of the cabin has an awesome view of strawberry creek and a huge mountain. What a sight! I loved that the heater worked due to it being a bit chilly this time of year. I personally loved the cozy carpet throughout the house and the comfy living room. Overall had a nice and cozy stay.

If you are looking for a rustic mountain getaway, this place is the perfect choice. The spaciousness on the inside and incredible deck perched right above a gorgeous creek outside are what make this place a great stay. The proximity to town while still feeling removed and private are also perks. This house isn’t modern or luxurious, no tricked out amenities, but that’s not what I’m looking for when I want to unplug in a cabin in the woods. Also very kid friendly with games and a fire stick tv. Close to great trails, beautiful views on every direction. Highly recommend!

Wonderful stay in Truckee

We had a lovely time here during Memorial day weekend! The condo was perfect for our group of 4 adults and 3 children. We were able to play in the snow behind the property (yes, it snowed at the end of May!) and were able to go sledding 5 minutes away. The beds were comfy, the kitchen had all you need, and the great room was spacious and inviting. There were board games in the loft for the entire group to play with. It was also near everything - coffee shops, restaurants and even a small market for incidentals! I can see how it can be fun coming here in the summer time as well because they have a recreation center across the street and hiking trails nearby. We will be coming back for sure!

Our group of 10 had last minute hopes of finding a mountain get away for the weekend and within a few days of contact, Vacasa helped us book this place! It is roomy, comfortable and has that mountainous cabin vibe we were looking for. The pictures are accurate and it is fully equipped with everything you need for a get away. Added bonus: the amazing porch Jacuzzi!! We spent many hours jacuzzing in the snow & loving every minute of it. There are also a washer and dryer available, a fully equipped kitchen, strong wifi and TV with Netflix and of course a super awesome fire place. Would recommend 10/10! Also, a great place for dogs! Fenced in yard (if you close the front gate) and fun areas, a stream and parks to explore nearby!

The idylwild house was amazing. It was a perfect size for our group of 10 people. There is a beautiful deck where you get to hear the creek down below. You can also walk across the creek to hike. :) would definitely be back!

This home worked great for my group of 10. Photos are all very accurate other than minor rearrangements in the bedrooms. The location is great, close to town and close to trails for hiking. The porch is huge, we especially loved the jacuzzi under the trees with an amazing view of the mountains. The host was very responsive, and the home was very accommodating with extra towels, movies, and games. Would love to stay again, and thank you again to the host!

What a lovely cabin! I rented the cabin to spend my birthday with 9 friends around a fireplace. It was a blast! The location is great (we walked down to some bars/thrift stores) and enjoyed the amazing view from the deck. Everything was great- the hosts quick in communicating, the place fit us all comfortably, and check in was easy. We all had a wonderful time. I highly recommend!!

Cabin was larger than we expected, which was excellent. Plenty of room for 8 adults. Beds were pretty comfortable and even though we didn't use it too much, the internet was blazing fast. There was a small issue with the water heater, but the local contact for vacasa was great and we resolved it in no time. I would just make sure you get their contact info in case you have any issues. The dining room table fit 8 adults comfortably, but any more would have been a challenge. Similarly with the hot tub only being large enough for 4 at a time. The only other complaint I have is that the large windows in the bedrooms upstairs have no shades, so the sun lights the rooms up in the morning. Other than that, it was excellent!

Beautiful quiet location, property was escape proof for dogs. Very spacious, suggest bring wild bird seed so you can attract morning birds to view. The creek mentioned that we were cited to explore is dry right now this time of year. Close to town if you need to go. Lots of general essentials for cooking etc, suggest bring few extra rolls of TP and paper towels. If you will use the futon, bring extra sheet and blanket for it. Neighbors were quiet as were we. Highly recommend if you need a fresh air quiet getaway.

Thank you for the stay! The house was clean, accommodated all of our needs, and there were even a ton of games in a cabinet on the wall by the living room. We absolutely loved the large porch and view was amazing. It was nice to be able to see the stars and hear the birds/owls sing at night. This place accommodated our party of 9 comfortably with a lot of modern features. Thanks for the stay!

When my daughter and granddaughter decided to join the”boys” trip for dirt biking in Anza we looked for an alternative to hotel rooms. We found the Strawberry Creek Cabin through VRBO and boy were we glad. Very well equipped , roomy and a beautiful setting. The deck is large and beautiful.

Booking & Cancellation Policies

All reservations require a valid photo ID and a signed rental contract.

Short-Term Stays (28 nights or less):

• 100% Refund: Cancel within 48 hours of booking.
• 60+ Days Before Arrival: 100% refund of all charges.
• 30–59 Days Before Arrival: Refund of all charges except the booking fee.
• 8–29 Days Before Arrival: 50% refund of all charges except the booking fee. Booking fee not refunded. 
• 7 Days or Less Before Arrival: No refund.

Long-Term Stays (29 nights or longer):

• 6+ Months Before Arrival: 100% refund.
• 91 Days–6 Months Before Arrival: Refund of all charges except the booking fee.
• 60–91 Days Before Arrival: 50% refund of rent and other fees refunded. Booking fee not refunded. 
• 60 Days or Less Before Arrival: No refund of rent or booking fee; other fees refunded.
