Classic waterfront beach house with a furnished deck & ocean views

Nana’s Vintage House in Cayucos is on the beach - an awesome location! Access to and from beach on wooden steps isn’t too bad, even for old ladies. There are four steep steps from the house down to the nice, large deck but a handrail does help. Home is all one level with incredible beach/ocean views, although one large window is fogged and there’s no view through it. Also, one large window’s mini blinds are broken and hanging wonky, distracting from the view. The screen door to the back deck is broken and cannot be used. Kitchen is fairly well stocked with cookware, utensils and dishes, although more silverware and coffee mugs would be nice. The host said there was a blender for our use, but we didn’t find one. No margaritas! There are no basic spices, salt or pepper and no foil or plastic wrap. The refrigerator works but is really old with rust on the outside and a gross looking ice maker. It should be replaced. Bed and bath linens are all nice quality but queen and king mattresses could be replaced. Toilet paper and kitchen paper towels are all cheap quality and there are no napkins or tissues. Glad we brought our own. There are lots of closets with storage for a long stay, but only 4 hangers provided. The only step in shower is very old and small, but is functional. Overall, it is a nice home with big rooms for entertaining and separating age groups if desired. The pier and most shops and restaurants are 3/4 mile from the house if walking on the beach.

If you want little amenities like salt & pepper, coffee, modern appliances, and matching glasses, this place isn’t for you. But, if a huge house with 3 different living areas (2 with full ocean views), plenty of games, puzzles and tv’s, an awesome large deck with a great table and chairs practically on the beach where you can spend your time watching sea creatures, surfers, gorgeous sunsets and ocean waves, definitely stay at Nanna’s. There’s a popped double pane window that needs replacing, a rusted screen door on the slider to the deck and some unusable electrical outlets, but the easy beach access, views of the stars, sound of the ocean, great nearby restaurants and amazing sunsets made up for any inconvenience.

House was vintage just like the listing provided. House was clean and spacious. The stairs leading out to the ocean were a bit wobbly here and there. The patio and view were amazing. As stated in the listing there was a camera facing the beach area, but it also faced the majority of the patio area. But overall we didn’t have any issues.

LOCATION!!!! This vintage house was comfortable, and had enough living spaces so we could move around, and not feel cramped. Appliances could be updated, but being able to walk down our own stairs to the beach was priceless. We could leave the doors open , to hear the waves, and nothing could beat sitting out on the deck with early morning coffee.The ocean view was such a lovely sight to see from the living rooms , and kitchen.

Blown away with the views. The access to the beach was magical. The property was spotless. I didn’t read the “vintage” in the heading so was surprised by the style. I’m not an admirer of vintage. But it was incredible. Makes me wonder why things now only last 5 years. I spent more time than planned in the property as I broke my ankle during that week. That said I can’t believe how uplifting the property was for my convalescence. 100% Will be back if at all possible.

This home is as pictured. It is vintage, yet comfortable. Lighting was the only real complaint and maybe the stove that bairly works. I cant imagine trying to cook for a family dinner on it. We couldnt get the oven to work. Looks like a couple of new TV’s were added . There is a lot of room to spread out and of course the view and beach are great.

This is a very nice beach house. The views are just incredible. Beach access is outstanding. Just walk down the backyard stairs down to the beach. The back patio is awesome. The stay was comfortable with many amenities provided. There were minor kick-knacks however. Checking in with the electronic codes for the front door was a pain. Neither the code provided in the welcome email from Vacasa nor the newer code provided by the Vacasa customer service agent when we arrived at the house can open the locked front door. So the customer service agent told me the code over the phone to open the lock box to get the key to the front door. That worked. However, it was difficult to remove the key after locking and unlocking the front door. Basically the key could be stuck in the lock, and I usually had to re-lock or re-unlock the door then wiggle the key in and out and left and right until it breaks loose from the door lock sort of randomly. So times were wasted working the door lock key. There were only a few times that I was able to remove the key just fine. So that front door lock was a real pain to work with. Also, as mentioned by the other guests to this house, it smelled bad when we first arrived. So during the day as long as we are in the house we opened up all the doors and windows and let it air out. After a few days of doing this it does not smell so bad any more. Also the stairs down to the beach could be rennovated. All in all we enjoyed our stay despite those small issues.

This is the 5th time we have stayed at Nana’s house. We have lived all over the world and it is always nice to come back to a familiar home. The cleaning staff had everything in great shape and fully equipped. The house now has a giant TV in the first family room with great WiFi. The Vacasa staff was helpful and always friendly. Thank you all so much for helping us with a great stay!

The house was clean and comfortable with all of your basic needs. The house was right on the ocean with a perfect view. It has a large patio to sit and watch the waves, surfers and whales. It was super relaxing. There are numerous restaurants close for your dining pleasure. This house is a perfect choice for a relaxing vacation. I would recommend this house to anyone. I would certainly book it again for my vacation. Thank you for a memorial stay. I will book it again. It could not have been better.

BOOK THIS PLACE!! Amazing view! The house itself was perfect. Those 1 star reviews made me apprehensive but I took a chance anyway and do not regret it one bit. Perfect get away from the city, the town is beautiful and easy going. Just relaxing and a great place to unwind. Beautiful view, cozy house. Literally on the beach, we were on the deck every morning and every sunset to enjoy the view and took the stairs down to the beach to walk around. Plenty of room for a large group of people, multiple living areas. The decor is vintage and feels like you’re traveling back in time to a simpler time. Will definitely be coming back!

The beach house had amazing views and great beach access. The decor is very dated and could use a refresh. The kitchen was stocked with all the basics but could use a set of wine glasses and more acrylic or plastic drinking glasses for the kids. We had to buy salt, so whoever checks the pantry for basics needs to be more thorough. Overall, any downsides were minimal in comparison to the large deck, ocean views and great beach access.

Very Spacious, great ocean view, direct beach access. Interesting artificially turfed interior courtyard. Somewhat old fashioned decor, underlighted "public" areas. May be our technological ineptness, but we found tv not user friendly.

The access to the beach was amazing. The hosts provided a very clean and neat space. The appliances were a little dated but worked just fine. The only slight draw back is that the beach is very dog friendly and not all dog owners clean up. (But there is nothing the hosts can do about that). We loved Cayucos! The town is friendly and chill (we went right before the 4th of July tourist run). There was a ton of stuff to do with the kids including the Hearst Castle Tour. Also, lots of wine tastings nearby for the grown ups. Antique shopping was fun. All these things were a short drive away. Very accessible location.

This is our 4th stay at Vintage Views! Cayucos is amazing at any time, any weather, but this week was outstanding with lots of sunshine and little wind. Vintage Views has the best view and largest front deck of any of the homes we have stayed in at Cayucos. The home is very spacious and has an extra bonus open air atrium that protects from the wind. This is a perfect reading area. The WiFi has been upgraded and is super fast. We can’t wait to book again!

Loved the location and access to ocean!! Children in our group (3 houses total) spent hours at beach. Due to Covid, didn’t frequent the town much but loved the outdoors, hiking (some climbed one of the sisters) and clamming (leaving them in place though) and digging. Patio had absolutely incredible Sunset views and we actually used the little atrium to have meals socially distant from my son who was from LA. The house was an interesting time-stood in the 70s house, but very child-friendly and fine for our needs. Loved our stay!

We enjoyed our stay and the two of us found it delightful to be in a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home. The views are awesome and the home was immaculate - the cleanest rental we have ever been in nationally and internationally. We liked it that it wasn't "updated" and do wear gloves if you are older like us 75 and 86 as the railing to the beach is authentic. We plan on staying again. Suggestions: 1) Provide detailed instructions for operation of TVs, 2) Remove sediment buildup from street gutter so water does not collect adjacent to the parking area, and 3) inform your neighbor to your immediate south of the deterioration of his house along the walkway.

Great view, easy beach access and clean. The only downfall is that the kitchen is not very well furnished. Lacking pots and pan selection and stove burners that don’t look safe to use ( left front burner). Could use more silverware too. Overall It is a great place to stay.

We have rented only two different homes in Cayucos for the last 10 years. We decided to try Vintage Views this April because it was always next to one of our regulars. It was clean and very spacious. The deck out front is huge and plenty of space for dining out or just enjoying the view. The views are amazing of course! The house actually has 3 living room areas with 2 full baths. The atrium is nice but we didn’t spend time there. I gave the house 5 stars even though there are a few items that need to be addressed. The twin bedroom really needs new mattresses and the WiFi needs an upgrade. All in all...I will give 5 stars and we booked again for June! Can’t wait to go back!!

Views were spectular! We have 2 kids under 3 and this place was absolutely perfect! The patio outside was all enclosed so no one could get out and the courtyard patio with fake grass was our toddlers favorite spot! We will definitely be back!

The only issue we had was a few splinters from the wooden stairs to the beach. We also would have loved to bring our pup but dogs aren't allowed. Other than those two minor things.. Each year four very dear friends find different locations for our reunion. This home was perfect. Right on the water and no need to travel elsewhere but because there are so many wonderful spots nearby we ventured out. I would highly recommend this home to anyone, especially a family as it has so much living space.

This home offers exceptional views and a big plus for our Senior Beach Babes is that there are no stairs in the house. Wonderful and comfortable gathering place for friends. This was our third year at this location and we have become friends with the neighbors that rent on either side at the same time as we do. This is "Our Pink Palace"

The view from the living/dining areas are amazing. The big beds in the house were very comfortable. The kitchen is very well stocked with all your needs. Had a little issue with the stove temperature needing to be adjusted...it ran very high. A updated tv would be great for the evening when it's too dark to see the beautiful ocean! Other than those very easy fixes, this was the best we found in Cayucos! We will return....oh and the courtyard was really a treat!!
