Clouds hovering over the Southern California mountain and coastal areas could deposit a small amount of rain on the region next weekend, possibly affecting Memorial Day.  Rain totals will be low, with a 40% chance of showers expected Friday in the mountains and along the coast, said Stuart Seto, a weather specialist with the National Weather Service in Oxnard. Weather in Palm Springs is expected to be warm and sunny with no chance of rain.

SUNNY SKIES PREDICTED FOR DESERT

Holiday forecasts for Palm Springs and the surrounding Coachella Valley are predicting sunny skies, temperatures in the low to mid 90s, and 0% chance of rain. “Our phones have been ringing off the hook since this latest weather forecast hit the news,” says Ken Hudnall, Reservations Manager for Acme House Company, which manages nearly 100 privately owned pool homes in Greater Palm Springs. “Many of our regulars from San Diego and Orange County have been calling in hopes of making last minute changes to their plans. So far we’ve been able to accommodate everyone. We’ve brought smiles to a lot of people’s faces. We’re about 70% sold out right now but we still have a few great properties left.”
