Originally constructed in 1956 for the owner of the famed and iconic Mr. Lyons Restaurant (host to Hollywood luminaries including Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, and Bob Hope), Casa Morongo is a meticulously renovated mid-century modern home on an expansive and fully secluded 14,810 sq ft lot. Features a newly upholstered Sunbrella Daybed and Sunbrella Swinging Egg Chair, tanning ledge, outdoor and indoor spas, alfresco dining, a lounge area with a fire feature, plus a putting green! Inside, enjoy the luxury of Ligne Roset furnishings and custom lighting by renowned industrial designer Pablo Pardo for Pablo Designs. The luxe outside kitchen features a BBQ, sink, and elevated Philippe Starck counter seats. Enjoy indoor/outdoor entertaining at its finest as you soak up the sun, or simply kick back with a cocktail for that classic Palm Springs vibe! One small dog allowed at this property.

OUTDOOR LIVING SPACES
The expansive resort-style backyard features lemon, grapefruit, pomegranate, orange, and Palo Verde trees, fragrant mint and rosemary bushes (favored by the numerous Hummingbirds), mid-mod kidney-shaped pool, newly upholstered Sunbrella daybed, Sunbrella Swinging Egg Chair for shade, tanning ledge, spa, alfresco dining, outdoor BBQ and kitchen with elevated Philippe Starck counter seats. Completely walled for privacy, the entire property feels like an exclusive, upscale resort.

There are two giant, mature olive trees in the front yard, creating shade and extra privacy. The backyard features a gorgeous living pavilion with alfresco dining, a lounge area with two sofas, a fire feature, and golf enthusiasts will love the putting green! The convenient outside kitchen features a BBQ, sink, and elevated counter seating area. Take a soak in the spa and enjoy the outdoor shower, surrounded by an array of over 200 plants, shrubs, and trees - Casa Morongo is truly a one-of-a-kind, private oasis!

INDOOR LIVING SPACES
As you enter through the bright yellow front door, you’ll be astounded by the light, expansive open-style living room with its high ceilings and colorful mid-century-inspired art (think Pollock and Rothko). Chill on an original (refurbished) Adrian Pearsall sectional sofa, the classic Eames Lounge Chair & Ottoman, or the comfy Ligne Roset (modern) Ploum Sofa. There are fun designer touches all throughout the house. In the evening, dim the Pablo lights to create a different allure in each room. The living room and dining room sliding glass doors open to the meticulously landscaped yard, pool, putting green, and spa. The ultra-private Casita Bedroom has a sliding door entrance to the backyard and a large En Suite Bathroom complete with a private door that leads to the outdoor spa. The Primary Bedroom features a walk-in closet, sliders to the backyard, En Suite Bathroom (with a spa tub, separate shower, Jack and Jill Vanity, and door to a private outdoor area under the shade of the gorgeous Bougainvillea archway).

Other guestrooms include the tropically-themed “Jungle Room,” and the 4th corner guestroom has an En Suite Bathroom and sliders that open to the expanse of the front yard with its huge olive trees and mountain-view backdrop. There are smart TVs in all 4 bedrooms, the living room (which also has basic cable), and the Casita (where you can complete your daily fitness routine with various weights, equipment, and yoga mat). The Chef's Kitchen features modern stainless steel appliances, including a double refrigerator, two stoves, a microwave, a 250-bottle wine refrigerator, an ice maker, custom cabinetry, and Caesarstone countertops. This property has all the appointments you would expect on a luxury vacation home rental, including high-speed internet access and an updated climate control system.

SLEEPING QUARTERS
All of the guestrooms feature a comfortable hotel-quality mattress with self-cooling “Snow Technology”, a flatscreen TV, ample storage, and phone chargers. The private Casita Bedroom has a direct backyard and pool access, as does the oversized Primary Bedroom (which has a large walk-in closet, bathroom with a separate jacuzzi tub, and access to a private outdoor area with an arched arbor of Bougainvillea ). There is a second En Suite Guestroom with a Queen bed and a private patio opening to a lovely manicured area with an olive tree for shade. Adjacent is the themed “Jungle Room,” with a Queen bed and easy access to the hall bathroom. On the opposite side of the house, you’ll find an attached Casita with a private front entrance, including a living/workout room. The Casita’s bedroom has a King bed and a large bathroom with direct access to the backyard.

THE LOCATION
While staying at this property, driving is completely optional as it’s conveniently located in the popular Tahquitz River Estates neighborhood. You'll be less than a half-mile from the world-famous Palm Canyon Drive (check out Arthur Lyons Jr.’s star on the “Walk of Stars”–he was Mr. Lyon’s son & Co-Founder of The Palm Springs Film Noir Festival) and close to both the South Palm Springs Business District and the bustling Downtown area. Grocery stores, fine dining, casual restaurants, nighttime entertainment, & excellent coffee shops are all just a 15-30 minute walk or a quick Uber ride away. The centralized location is perfect for those who want to be close to everything yet completely secluded in a quiet, luxurious sanctuary.
