Peaceful Oasis in the Desert

"A great place to stay in Palm Springs. The house is in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood, just a few blocks away from a park, but within easy access to shops and restaurants. The rooms are spacious, and the kitchen is well-stocked with everything you need for prepping meals at home, including an outdoor BBQ/grill. The pool / hot-tub, along with nice outdoor seating areas gave us plenty of reasons to relax outside.Overall a clean, comfortable home that made our stay in the desert relaxing and enjoyable. We'd definitely stay here again. "

Palm Springs at its Best

"Four of us stayed at the wonderful house for a week. This movie colony and shade house had everything you could possibly need. Very spacious, heated pool and hot tub and great views of the snow covered mountains. Acme House who manages the property were very attentive and even sent out Michelle to greet us and go over every thing we needed to know about operating the property. We would definitely recommend this house."

Wonderful Stay!

"My wife and I, her parents and her aunt and uncle stayed at Movie Colony Sun and Shade for a week this October. We enjoyed the house a lot! The location was wonderful, in walking distance to the park and if its not too hot, to the Uptown Design District. The property was just like the pictures, clean and well maintained. The only complaint we had, was the kitchen was not stocked with dishes and supplies (for example, there was no cocktail shaker or beer bottle opener) as well as other rentals we have stayed at in the past. But that is a small quibble, we loved the fireplace inside and the pool and spa were in great condition. The house was on the smaller side for three bedrooms, but all of us enjoyed our rooms and the living room was very spacious and comfortable. Overall, it was a great place to stay!"

Fabulous Palm Springs house

"Sun and shade in Palm Springs was a perfect place to rejuvenate and have an amazing break from the cold New York winter. This house is beautifully designed with mid century modern furnishings and is light, airy and uplifting . The bedrooms are spacious and bright and there are two bathrooms all stocked with everything you might need down to the last detail . Only to top that is the garden with grapefruit trees and breathtaking views and a pool And hot tub where you can just relax all day . We had some beautiful al fresco meals and the kitchen is amply well stocked . The location is perfect with everywhere you might want to go in Palm Springs right at your door step . It was such a lovely winter get away and sun and shade was the perfect place to stay making this a really memorable vacation. This is the kid of place you want to return to again and tell your friends about ! "

"Had a very nice time staying in this lovely house. The management staff were very helpful with all our questions. The location is an easy walk to the main street shopping locations and restaurants.
Loved the modern decor of the house. The beds were all super comfortable. The mountain views from the kitchen and the pool were nice. The house has everthing you could possibly need while here. I wouldn't hesitate for a minute to stay here again. Great place!"

Spring Getaway - First Timers to Palm Springs

"We came at the end of May, beginning of June. This rental was perfect for what we were looking for. We traveled with our young daughter (less than a year) and wanted a place that had the option of relaxing poolside while our daughter was napping. The pool was perfect, same with having the grassy area in the shade for her to crawl around.

We were greeted by the property management who gave us full details on everything we needed to know. As well as contact information for anything that came up. Great communication.

The house itself was great. Lots of space and beautifully decorated rooms. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. Very clean. Not baby friendly (sharp edges on fire place and tile floors) however we never expected it to be baby friendly. It was easy to watch her and we had no issues. Just a tid bid for anyone bringing kids and has bigger concerns with that kind of stuff.

Location was perfect. We were in walking distance to great coffee shops and a quick Uber ride (5min or less) to any great restaurants and bars on the main strip.

Would definitely return to Palm Springs and to this property!"

"We had a restful and fun stay at Movie Colony Sun & Shade. The house was very clean and comfortable. The outdoor space was beautiful and after the pool heater was activated we also were able to enjoy the spa. We also used the bocci court, loungers, outdoor dining space and BBQ. The location was convenient for making trips to the market and downtown for dinner. I'd go back tomorrow. "

Serenity in Palm Springs

"We (three adults, two kids) had a fantastic time in this gorgeous modern house. Everything was super-clean and it felt really spacious... there's a large living area, dining table, well-equipped kitchen with all the necessities, but most of the time we ate outside--even in December! The pool is gorgeous and you can take your pick between soaking in the hot tub or doing laps with dramatic mountains in the background. The view from the fire pit and hot tub and pool is really wonderful in the afternoon/evening. Super comfortable beds, lovely modern furniture, and when we went out we found it was a 5min walk to great coffee (Ernest Coffee!) and restaurants. This end of Palm Springs is so so quiet... and yet you could walk or drive into the busier sections easily. There's a huge park nearby, and you're surrounded by fabulous mid-century modern architecture. We didn't have time for a full architectural tour, but there are famous buildings (like the Kaufmann house) nearby. We'd go back in a flash."

A Perfect Place in Palm Springs!

"Sun & Shade in Palm Springs provided us with a perfect respite from chilly New York City over President's Day weekend. This lovely, midcentury modern gem of a home is ideally located -- minutes from downtown and Palm Springs Airport with restaurants and shops within walking distance. Spent much of our time relaxing in and out of the pool, which has a great, integrated hot tub as well. Soaking in the hot tub and then rolling right into the refreshing pool was pretty heavenly! The home itself is impeccable and stylishly furnished. My partner and I along with two friends slept comfortably in the three bedrooms. Kitchen is fully equipped and well stocked with ample glassware, dishes and cookware. Loved dining al fresco under the shade of the pergola and snagged a big grapefruit from the gorgeous tree growing in the lawn to add to our cocktails! We'd love to return one day for an extended period and take advantage of the bocce ball court and fire pit. In the meantime, we'll be California dreaming! "
