If you’re looking for incredible natural beauty and the most unique hiking possible in the Palm Springs area, then look no further than the Coachella Valley Preserve.
The Coachella Valley Preserve was initially formed by a system of sand dunes and has turned into a 17,000-acre site that is truly a wonder to behold. Within the preserve there are a number of different hiking trails, including the McCallum, Hidden Palms, Moon Country, Pushwalla Palms, and Willis Palms trails. These trails range from very easy to difficult, and so you can be sure to find something for every skill level and member of your family! Hiking trails also vary in length from approximately 1 mile to approximately 7 miles, so whether you’re looking for a quick stroll to start the morning or a hefty workout, the Coachella Valley Preserve has something for you!
The one thing that makes the Coachella Valley Preserve stand out from the other hiking trails in the Palm Springs area is the incredible natural beauty and oases that make up the park. In what is truly an oasis in the middle of the desert, you’ll have the chance to walk through natural paths, dry creeks, desert areas, hill tops, and so much more! There are also hundreds of humongous palm trees scattered all throughout the park, and you won’t be able to help the feeling that you’ve stumbled upon a real oasis in the middle of the desert! It is the incredible natural beauty and varied landscape that make the Coachella Valley Preserve unlike anything else in Palm Springs.
The Coachella Valley Preserve is located at 29200 Thousand Palms Canyon Road, and all of the trails are accessible from this location. All of the trails and hikes are self-guided, so don’t be afraid to stop at the visitor’s center for a map!
