PALM SPRINGS, CA – World travelers Jo and Rod Strother were back in town from Singapore - continuing their search for the perfect Palm Springs Vacation Rental Home to purchase.

Their trip involved a few days of house hunting with their agent, Stewart Smith of Bennion Deville, woven between dining out with friends at some of Palm Springs’ most delicious restaurants including Johannes, Johnny Costa’s and Wilma & Frieda’s. They also enjoyed one of the Palm Springs Historical Society’s fabulous walking tours, Hidden Paradise.

On this trip, Jo and Rod stayed at Acme’s fabulous West Elm Pool House 2018, which was launched during Modernism Week 2018. More than 7,000 modernists visited the home for tours, cocktail parties, and synchronized swimming performances by the world-famous Aqualillies!

When asked what they thought of the West Elm Pool House 2018, Rod replied, "I can't imagine anyone staying in the house not being blown away - by all of it. I found the house to be so tastefully done I'd have whoever did the interior design fly over to Singapore and do our house there."

Jo and Rod already own a few vacation rentals, including a sweet slice of heaven in Scotland! They're now looking to expand to Palm Springs and have been working with the portfolio development team at Acme to develop their list of must-haves in a Vacation Home Rental.

The list includes:

  • at least 3 bedrooms and 3 baths
  • an open concept floor plan with walls of glass that blur the lines between indoor and outdoor living
  • a heated swimming pool with a tanning shelf and an integrated waterfall spa
  • an outdoor living room with a hard lined gas fire feature
  • an alfresco dining pavilion that can accommodate 8-10 guests
  • an outdoor cooking area with a plumbed gas barbecue
  • space to add fun factors like bocce ball, ping pong, a putting green or an outdoor pool table
