Palm Springs International Film Festival and Native FilmFest (which highlights top contributions from Native Americans to the Hollywood film industry) bring the moviemaking industry’s top talent and most passionate enthusiasts to town for movie screenings, talks, and celebrations lasting from several days to over a week.
Modernism Week dives into Palm Springs’ modernist culture, architecture, and past with gusto through events, dinners, talks, and tours held over the course of about a week to two weeks.
Finally, the Desert Concours d’Elegance car festival and the Tour de Palm Springs bicycle race are also held during this time.
Spring To Summer
April through June brings on several notable events in Palm Springs. The Arthur Lyons’ Film Noir Festival, Restaurant Week, Girls Weekend (previously known as Dinah Shore Weekend), and the famous White Party are all held in this season. The weather begins to heat up, but isn’t as intense as it is during the peak of summer. Palm Springs’ plethora of golf courses are also excellent during this time of year.
Summer To Fall
Summertime temperatures in Palm Springs are intense, which is why summer is the season for poolside parties and fun indoor events. From July through September, you’ll encounter the Palm Springs International Festival of Short Films, the city’s annual 4
th of July Celebration, and Cinema Diverse Gay and Lesbian Films.
Fall To Winter
The last quarter of the year brings on the American Heat Bike Show, the Exotic Car Show and Auction, Greater Palm Springs Pride, the Festival of Lights and Veteran’s Day Parades, the Walk of the Inns, and the Tree Lighting Ceremony at Aerial Tramway as Palm Springs slides into cooler temperatures and holiday cheer.
