Grand Palm Springs Vacation Home Rental - just a short stroll from the world-famous Palm Canyon Drive as it runs through the Uptown Design District. Spend your vacation in this very private poolside paradise that was once the estate of Sol Lesser - the Academy Award-winning legend who produced Oliver Twist, Peck's Bad Boy and the series of Tarzan films made popular in the 1940s and '50s.

Nearly 3,000 square feet of old world glamour - this stately property captures the sophisticated Palm Springs vibe of yesteryear. The Sol Lesser Estate is both glamorously nostalgic and very 'next century.' The architectural pedigree (Paul R. Williams) was lovingly preserved when the property was completely remodeled. New kitchen and baths, high speed internet access, five flat screen televisions and an updated climate control system. The owners have combined classic architecture, old world style and modern-day comfort to create a spectacular luxury vacation home in true Palm Springs-style.

THE LIVING SPACES
Built as a celebrity desert escape, this home has a luxurious open floor plan that blurs the lines between indoor and outdoor living. The great room provides an impressive yet welcoming space to spend time with your entire group. You'll find inside dining for 8 to 10, a fireside lounging area with plenty of seating and a flat screen television. The kitchen and breakfast room has been completely remodeled with beautiful granite countertops and stainless steel appliances - including a six burner gas stove. All along the back of the house are French doors that reveal a romantic pool & yard that looks as though it were ripped from the pages of Better Homes and Gardens.

THE SLEEPING QUARTERS
Like an upscale boutique hotel, all of the bedrooms feature hospitality-quality mattresses, flat screen televisions and ample storage. There are three masters (two king, one queen) that each have ensuite baths. The additional king guest room has easy access to the fourth full bath.

THE OUTDOOR SPACES
The entire estate is completely enclosed for privacy. Once inside the gates, you will feel as though you have wandered into an episode of Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. The front garden features a rolling lawn, stone paths and mature fruit trees. The equally private backyard is very Palm Springs-chic with a grand pebble-tec surfaced saltwater pool, a fabulous outdoor kitchen, and a covered dining pavilion with gas-fueled heater. Lounge poolside in the full sun, or beneath the shaded lanai. Enjoy sun sets over the stunning mountain view, followed by long nights gathered around the firepit with your travel companions.

A PART OF PALM SPRINGS HISTORY
This private compound was built in 1946 from plans by architect Paul R. Williams - known for designing Tudor revivals and Villas in the French Chateau and Regency styles for clients Frank Sinatra, Lucille Ball, Julie London and Tyrone Power. He began working in Palm Springs when weekend and seasonal getaways were all the rage for the celebrities who flocked here to relax under the radar. Today, Leonardo DiCaprio owns property in the neighborhood as do some of the biggest stars of daytime television like Bobbie Eakes (All My Children, Bold & The Beautiful) and Tristan Rogers (Young and the Restless, General Hospital).

ABOUT THE LOCATION
Old Las Palmas is just a quarter mile stroll from the Uptown Design District and its many stops for The Buzz, the city's free trolley service that travels up and down Palm Canyon Drive.

"The home is georgous, and the pictures are accurate. Very clean and well maintained. The location is A+! ACME House Co. was very reponsive regarding any questions, logistics, and the area. I spoke a few times with them and they always responded PROMPTLY. When I go back to Palm Springs I will definitely stay at the home. If you are considering this home for a stay, look no further.
